1. Rakuten Super Points™ Program Overview.
What is the Rakuten Super Points™ program?
It is our rewards program. Rakuten Super Points™ are our way of saying “Thank You” for purchases you make with us.
Why do I want Rakuten Super Points™?
Everyone likes to save and Rakuten Super Points™ help you do just that every time you purchase from our site. You can save your Points up to get the things you want for free or you can pay for part of your order with Points to get a discount!
Who is Rakuten and why do I want their points?
If you’re not familiar, Rakuten is the largest online shopping mall operator in Japan and they have a killer reward Points program. We’ve adopted this program and believe you’ll be very happy with this great new way to save. Keep in mind that any Rakuten Super Points™ you earn from Rakuten.com can only be used for purchases on Rakuten.com.
2. How Do I Earn Rakuten Super Points™?
How do I earn Rakuten Super Points™?
Earning Points is easy! Here’s a quick step-by-step process for how to earn Points:

5) 15 days after your order ships, your Points are ready to be used (Standard 1X Points expire after 180 days and Promotional Points expire after 60 days)
Keep in mind that Points cannot be earned in combination with any other cash back program. Also, they can’t be transferred to different accounts so make sure you are logged into your correct account when you make purchases.
How many Rakuten Super Points™ do I earn from each purchase?
For every dollar you spend on our site, you will be rewarded with 1 Point. Keep in mind that Shipping Fees, Tax and any other fees associated with your order are not included in the total price when it comes to earning points.
We also have special Promotional Offers that allow you to earn Points at a rate higher than our standard rate. See above Promotions Section for current Promotional Offers.
3. What Can I Get With Rakuten Super Points™?
How do I use Rakuten Super Points™?
You can use Points just like cash on our site to buy the things you want! Here’s a quick step-by-step process for how to redeem your Points:
1) Log in and shop
2) Apply your points at checkout
3) You can use your points to cover a purchase but if there is a remaining balance, you can use either a Credit or Debit Card to complete the transaction.
Right now, Rakuten Super Points™ are only redeemable on our site and are not redeemable for cash. Remember, they can’t be transferred to different accounts so make sure you are logged into your correct account when you make purchases.
How many Rakuten Super Points™ do I need to buy things on Rakuten.com?
100 Points = $1. You can use your points to get what you want for free or you can use a mixture of Points and other payment methods when checking out. For example, if the value of the merchandise in your cart is worth $40, then it will take 4,000 Points to cover the cost of the entire purchase. To view your Point Balance, go to the “Review Your Super Points Balance” link in the “My Account” section on our site. Once you get the hang of it, it’s easy and fun to see how much you save!
Are there limits to the number of Rakuten Super Points™ I can use per purchase?
The minimum number of Points that can be used per transaction is 50 Rakuten Super Points™ (equal to $0.50 of your purchase). The maximum number of Points that can be used per transaction is 25,000 Rakuten Super Points (equal to $250 of your purchase).
Keep in mind that you can use up to 100,000 Rakuten Super Points per month for all transactions with us, which would be a total per month savings of $1,000.
Do Rakuten Super Points™ expire?
After you make a purchase, the points you earn under our standard 1% back (1X) will mature 15 days after your order ships, and expire 180 days after that. An added bonus: those points renew if you make at least one qualifying purchase every 180 days! The expiration date for pending points does not renew. You will get 180 days to use the pending points once they mature.
The only exception to this rule is points earned in our special promotional Point campaigns. Since these awards are so high, they often have unique expiration dates (typically 60 days). Because they don’t renew, you’ll want to make sure to cash in on them quickly! You can easily check on the expiration dates for these on banners and event pages.
4. I Like It – Tell Me More!
What’s the difference between Standard Points and Promotional Points?
A point is a point, but standard points refer to the 1% back in Points (1X) automatically earned on all qualifying purchases. Promotional points refer to the special offers that give you up to 30% back in Points (30X).
Tell me more about Promotional Offers
Be sure to pay attention to details of a campaign messaged on banners and the event page. They will tell you if there is an item/dollar amount threshold, as well as varying expiration dates and a promo code required to redeem the offer. We must void Rakuten Super Points™ earned on orders that do not follow promotion-specific details.
I’ve seen Super Point™ Promotions offering 5% and 10% back. What is this?
A promotion of 10% back means that you would earn 10 Points for every dollar spent on the purchase price. On a $100 item, 10% back would equal $10 in Rakuten Super Points™ to use like cash on a future purchase.
When I use my Rakuten Super Points ™, can I specify if I want to use my Standard Points or Promotional Points when I check out?
When you are cashing in your Points, the Points with the closest expiration date will be automatically applied and can easily be removed at checkout.
How soon can I use Rakuten Super Points™?
Points are available to use 15 days after your order ships.
What are qualifying purchases?
To qualify for Points, you must be logged into your account. Here are ways that disqualify an order from earning Points:
1) Orders paid for with PayPal Express
2) Orders paid for with Google Wallet
3) Orders paid for with MasterPass
4) Orders paid for with Visa Checkout
5) Gift Card purchases
6) Checking out as a Guest
How do I find out how many Super Points™ I have accrued and are available?
You can check your Super Points balance by:
• Logging in and clicking on your username in the header of any Rakuten.com page and selecting ‘Super Point Balance’
• Going to the ‘My Account’ page
You will be able to see how many Points are available to spend and how many are pending. Pending Points are those earned in the last 15 days or more.
*Rakuten.com reserves the right to suspend the awarding of Rakuten Super Points™, or cancel awarded Points, based on Rakuten.com’s determination of suspicious or illegal activity.
5. I Love Points! How Can I Get More?!
Are there other ways to earn Rakuten Super Points™ besides making purchases on Rakuten.com?
Yes! You can earn Points by writing a product or seller review. Just click on the ‘Write a Review’ link on any product page to write and submit your review. Once the Product Review is approved and the Points are processed, they will be automatically deposited into your account. To view your total balance, check the ‘Review Your Super Points Balance’ in the ‘My Account’ section of our site.

Are there restrictions to earning Points by writing product reviews?
There are some restrictions to ensure that reviews posted on Rakuten.com help you find what you’re looking for:
• Each unique review must contain a minimum of 250 characters and the review must be specific to the product being reviewed
• Duplicate reviews, even if used for different items do not qualify
• Reviews placed by an automated system do not qualify for Points
• Reviews must not contain any inappropriate language, hate speech, irrelevant information or be libelous in any way
• You can earn Points for the first 100 Product Reviews you write, which is 2,500 Points (or $25 in Points) that you can potentially earn

7. TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THE RAKUTEN SUPER POINTS™ PROGRAM
The following are the terms and conditions (the "Program Terms") governing the Rakuten Super Points™ Program (the "Program") owned and operated by Rakuten.com Shopping (the "Company") and offered to Rakuten.com Shopping customers ("Customer(s)") that have a valid Rakuten.com Shopping Account (an "Account").
By participating in the Program, Customer(s) can earn Rakuten Super Points™ ("Super Points") subject to these Program Terms and Super Points Account balance and availability. Customer(s) must have and use a valid Account to earn Super Points on purchases made by the Customer through the Company. Continued use of an Account and participation in the Program constitutes Customer’s consent and agreement to abide by the most current version of these Program Terms as may be posted from time to time at www.rakuten.com. Customer(s) are responsible for remaining knowledgeable as to any changes that the Company may make to these Terms and Conditions. Customer(s) must be signed into their Account when making purchases to earn Super Points.
EARNING SUPER POINTS
Customer(s) will automatically become eligible and will begin to earn Super Points by establishing an Account. Super Points may be earned at a rate of one (1) Super Point for each dollar spent to purchase up to seven (7) items per order (excluding shipping fees and taxes) up to a maximum of Twenty-Five Thousand (25,000) Super Points per order. Maximum Super Points allowed for accrual may vary, depending on the promotion. Number of Super Points you earn is messaged on promotional banners, and at checkout in the ‘Rakuten Super Points’ section. Super Points are only offered to, and may be earned and redeemed only by, Customer(s) of the Company. Orders from resellers, exporters, wholesalers, any businesses of any kind for commercial resale, or any other customers for resale are null and void and otherwise subject to cancellation. These promotions cannot be combined with any other cash back reward program or Super Points promotion. Any orders for which payment is made using PayPal Express, Google Checkout, Visa Checkout, MasterPass and/or any other external payment systems do not qualify for any Super Point promotions.
After an eligible purchase is made, the earned Super Points may be held in pending status for up to fifteen (15) calendar days after the purchase has shipped unless otherwise stated. Qualifying standard Super Points will generally be available for redemption purposes on the sixteenth (16th) calendar day after shipment of the purchase.
SUPER POINTS ACCOUNTS
The Company reserves the right to monitor all Super Point activity in any Customer(s) Account. The Company also reserves the right to adjust the number of Super Points in any Customer Account that does not indicate the correct number of Super Points as determined by the Company in its reasonable sole discretion. Finally, the Company reserves the right to rescind all pending or available Super Points for any orders that are cancelled, refunded, or returned at any time. If any item is returned by Customer(s) for refund, then the Company reserves the right to withhold from that refund dollar amount(s) that are equal to (1) the discount awarded through redemption of Super Points during the purchase of that item; and (2) the discount awarded through redemption of any standard Super Points or any promotional Super Points during the period between (a) the original redemption purchase for which products are being returned and (b) the date of such product return. The Company reserves the right to cancel or freeze pending and available Super Points credited to an Account if that Account shows signs of fraud, abuse, illegal or otherwise suspicious activity as determined by Company in its sole discretion. In such event, the Company reserves the right to pursue all legal remedies and actions available to it including legal action to recover any damages incurred by the Company in connection with such improper activity.
Super Points are offered as promotional items and are void if sold for cash or other consideration or if altered or copied. Super Points cannot be reissued if destroyed, lost, or stolen. Super Points have no intrinsic value, are not equivalent to cash, and may not be redeemed for cash. Super Points may not be purchased or sold by Customer(s) and the Company will not sell Super Points. Super Points are the property of the Company and Customer(s) have no property rights or other legal interests in the Super Points. Super Points are not valid where their earning or redemption is prohibited by law.
Rakuten Super Points™ are not cash or currency and cannot be transferred, credited to an account, redeemed for cash, or used for gift card purchases or redemptions.
Except for Super Points earned through the Rakuten Points Credit Card Rewards Program (discussed below), Super Points expire at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on the date that is One Hundred Eighty (180) days after the associated order ships, unless a subsequent purchase is made through that Account. If such subsequent purchase is made, then the otherwise-expiring Super Points will be extended for another One Hundred Eighty (180) days. Once expired, Super Points will not be reinstated. Expiration date(s) for all Super Points in an Account will be displayed on the Customer(s) Account page. If customers opt in to a promotion using a promo code, then promotional point offer terms apply.
Customer(s) must have a sufficient amount of available and eligible Super Points in their Account to qualify for a price reduction when redeeming Super Points. Super Points are not eligible for redemption until they are displayed as available Super Points in the Account. Pending Super Points cannot be redeemed during the period of pendency. All redemptions of Super Points are final and may not be cancelled. Available Super Points may be used to reduce the price of an item at checkout at the rate of One (1) Super Point per One cent ($0.01) deduction from the total of the order. A Customer(s) must use a minimum of fifty (50) Super Points when redeeming Super Points at checkout. A Customer(s) may redeem up to a maximum of either: (a) Twenty-Five Thousand (25,000) Super Points per purchase; or (b) One-Hundred Thousand (100,000) Super Points per month, whichever is lower. Super Points can only be redeemed when using a credit card to make a purchase and may not be used in combination with any other payment methods. Any refunds for orders that have used Super Points may be issued in an amount of Super Points up to a maximum amount equal to the amount of Super Points used on the order, less any adjustments as described in these Program Terms.
PROMOTIONAL POINT OFFERS
The Company may offer special limited-time promotional opportunities to earn a greater amount of Super Points for purchases of goods and services. These promotional Super Points have a limited redemption period and do not renew regardless of subsequent purchases with the Company or through the Account. These promotional Super Points are subject to these Program Terms as well as any additional terms and conditions that may be provided with the promotion and any attempt to claim any associated promotional Super Points constitutes Customer’s consent and agreement to abide by the terms of that promotional offer.
Super Point promotions begin and end on the days and at the times specified in the associated promotional offer. Any Percentage Back awards described in the offer will be awarded in the form of promotional Super Points. The promotional Super Points that will be awarded in conjunction with any purchase are viewable at checkout. All promotional Super Points earned during these promotions will be available fifteen (15) days after shipment and will expire on the day and at the time specified in the associated promotional offer. Expiration dates applicable to any Super Points held in a Customer(s) Account can be viewed on the Account page on the Company site. Promotions requiring customers to activate the promotional offer through registration may prompt and require the Customer(s) to opt in or to enter the correct promotional code at checkout. Customers must complete the checkout process before the specified time on the last day of the promotional period. Customer(s) may purchase a maximum of seven (7) qualifying items and receive promotional Super Point credit for a maximum award of Ten Thousand (10,000) Super Points during any promotion per account, customer and shipping address. The maximum award may vary, depending on the promotion. Number of Super Points you earn is messaged on promotional banners, and at checkout in the ‘Rakuten Super Points’ section. The Company reserves the right to void any award of Super Points associated with orders that do not completely follow these requirements. Super Points are only offered to, and may be earned and redeemed only by, Customer(s) of the Company. These promotions cannot be combined with any other cash back reward program or Rakuten Super Points promotion. Orders from resellers, exporters, wholesalers, any businesses of any kind for commercial resale, or any other customers for resale are null and void and otherwise subject to cancellation. Any orders for which payment is made using PayPal Express, Google Checkout, Visa Checkout, MasterPass and/or any other external payment systems do not qualify for any Super Point promotions.

RAKUTEN POINTS CREDIT CARD REWARDS PROGRAM
Customers with a RAKUTEN REWARDS MasterCard® (“Rakuten Card”) can earn additional Super Points through the Rakuten Credit Card Rewards Program (the “Credit Card Rewards Program”). First Bankcard®, a division of First National Bank of Omaha (“First Bankcard”) is the issuer of the Rakuten Card and the sponsor of the Credit Card Rewards Program. Click here to refer to the Credit Card Rewards Program Terms and Conditions provided with the Rakuten Card.
Points earned under the Credit Card Rewards Program (the “Card Points”) will be reported to the Company automatically after each Billing Cycle. The Company will make each Card Point earned by a Customer available as a Super Point in his or her Account. Super Points earned through the Credit Card Rewards Program will generally be available for redemption within twenty (20) calendar days after each Billing Cycle. A “Billing Cycle” is the interval between the days or dates of regular periodic statements for the Rakuten Card whether or not a periodic statement is received. Card Points will expire on or after the second anniversary of when they become available for redemption through the Rakuten SuperPoints Program.
The Company reserves the right to revise these Program Terms at any time with or without notice, including (but not limited to) the rules for earning and redeeming Super Points, the expiration policy for Super Points, and the products and services for which Super Points may be earned and redeemed; however, in no event will Card Points earned under the Credit Card Rewards Program and reported to the Program expire sooner than on or after the second anniversary of when they become available for redemption.
The Program has no predetermined termination date and may continue until such time as the Company decides to terminate the Program. The Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion and for any reason, to terminate all or any portion of the Program by giving notice to that effect by means of a posting on the homepage and/or via another method of notice that may be deemed appropriate in the Company’s sole discretion. In such an event the Program will terminate at 11:59 PM Pacific Time the next calendar day following notice of termination issuance unless otherwise stated in the notice. In the event that the Program is terminated, then actions that are required to be taken by or on behalf of an Account holder must be completed no later than five (5) calendar days after the Company has given notice of Program termination Super Points earned through the Program may be forfeited without compensation five (5) calendar days after notice of Program termination has been given.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
THE COMPANY MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO SUPER POINTS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN THE EVENT THAT POINTS ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL THEN CUSTOMER’S SOLE REMEDY, AND COMPANY’S SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH SUPER POINTS. CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY AND CUSTOMER(S) MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
Any attempted participation except as permitted by these Program Terms, is void. The Company is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, misdirected, illegible materials, email or mail; (ii) any computer, telephone, cable, network, satellite, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, or availability, (iii) garbled or jumbled transmissions; (iv) service provider/Internet/Website/use net accessibility or availability, traffic congestion, or unauthorized human intervention; or (v) inaccurate capture of any information, of Super Points, or the failure to capture any such information.
The Company is not responsible for (a) any incorrect or inaccurate information, whether caused by printing errors, Website users, tampering, hacking, or by any of the equipment or programming associated with or utilized in the Program; (b) any error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, communications line failure, theft or destruction; or (c) unauthorized access to the Company’s websites or any communications means. The Company is not responsible for any personal injury or property damage related to or resulting from either: (1) participating in the Program or (2) downloading materials from or use of the Company’s websites.
Should there be any tax liability for the accumulation and/or use of Super Points or the receipt of merchandise in the Program, or expenses for the use and enjoyment of any such merchandise, or for any other reason, then such taxes and/or expenses are the sole responsibility of Customer. In the event that during a given calendar year, a U.S. resident acquires or redeems Super Points for a total equivalent value of Six Hundred Dollars ($600.00) or greater, then the Company may (to the extent required by law) advise the Internal Revenue Service to this effect through a Form 1099 indicating the total retail value of such items and total imputed value of the Super Points acquired or redeemed.
The Company makes no guarantees, warranties, or representations of any kind concerning the Program. The earning and redemption of Super Points are void where prohibited by applicable federal, state, or local laws or regulations and are subject to change as may be necessary to comply with such laws or regulations. By agreeing to these Program Terms, Customer(s) hereby releases, and agrees to execute any agreements evidencing such release, the Company and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, agents and partners from all liability regarding the earning, redemption, and use of Super Points, including any Super Points that may be lost, stolen, or destroyed after receipt.
