Will I be required to pay sales tax?

You will be required to pay sales tax if the shipping address of your order is in the following states:

  • California
  • Connecticut
  • Illinois
  • Massachusetts
  • Minnesota
  • Missouri
  • Tennessee
  • New York
  • Washington

Rakuten.com Marketplace Sellers may be required to charge taxes for shipping addresses in additional states based on their locations.  Because this cannot be determined prior to knowing where you will ship the item, these taxes may not show until checkout.

If you believe you qualify for a tax exemption, you can find more information about that here.

NOTICE TO SOUTH DAKOTA CUSTOMERS:

Rakuten.com is not required to collect South Dakota sales or use tax, and does not collect sales or use tax from you.  Your purchase may be subject to South Dakota use tax unless the purchase is exempt from taxation in South Dakota.  Your purchase is not exempt from taxation in South Dakota merely because it is made over the Internet, by catalog, or by other remote means.  The State of South Dakota requires each South Dakota purchaser to report any purchase that was not taxed and pay tax on the purchase.  The tax may be reported and paid on the South Dakota use tax form; the use tax form and corresponding instructions are available on the South Dakota Department of Revenue Web site.
