What kind of Rakuten Super Points™ are there?
There are three types of Rakuten Super Points™:
How do I earn Rakuten Super Points™?
You can earn 1 standard Rakuten Super Point™ for each $1 you spend on an item (excluding shipping fees, tax, and any other fees associated with your order). For example, if your item was $500, you would get 500 points.
No enrollment is necessary to earn standard points, but certain restrictions apply, including these:
Additionally, while there is no maximum for the amount of standard or Rakuten Rewards MasterCard® points that may be earned on an order, unless otherwise stated, you may only earn promotional points on up to 7 items to a maximum of 10,000 promotional points per a promotion, account, customer, and shipping address.
Why don't I earn Rakuten Super Points™ with guest checkout?
Rakuten Super Points™ are only available to Rakuten.com Account holders. Because Rakuten.com Accounts are not used in the purchase process, we cannot provide Rakuten Super Points™ when you use Rakuten Guest Checkout, PayPal Express Guest Checkout, MasterPass Guest Checkout, Google Wallet Guest Checkout, or Visa Checkout (formerly V.me) Guest Checkout.
|When can I use my Rakuten Super Points™?|
Standard Rakuten Super Points™ are available to use 15 days after your order ships. Standard points earned between 11/27 and 12/31 will be available in 5 days after the order is shipped instead of 15 days after the order shipped.
Promotional Rakuten Super Points™ become available according to the terms and conditions of the promotion for which they were awarded.
Rakuten Rewards MasterCard® points become available for use 15 days after we receive the transactional data from your monthly bill.
|When do my Rakuten Super Points™ expire?|
Standard Rakuten Super Points™ expire 180 days after the points become available to use. If you make a purchase within that time period, all unused Standard Rakuten Super Points™ are renewed for another 180 days from when your new order ships. Standard points earned between 11/27 and 12/31 will expire 90 days after the points become available for use, but will be available in 5 days after the order is shipped instead of 15 days after the order shipped.
Promotional Rakuten Super Points™ expire in accordance to the promotion’s terms and conditions. Promotional Rakuten Super Points™ do not renew as a result of subsequent purchases. Promotional points earned between 11/27 and 12/31 will expire 90 days after the points become available for use, but will be available in 5 days after the order is shipped instead of 15 days after the order shipped.
Rakuten Rewards MasterCard® points expire 2 years after the points become available for use. Rakuten Rewards MasterCard® points do not renew as a result of subsequent purchases. In all cases, a notification will be sent 2 weeks prior to the expiration of your points to allow you time to use them or make another purchase.
What are the complete Rakuten Super Points™ terms and conditions?
The following are the terms and conditions (the "Program Terms") governing the Rakuten Super Points™ Program (the "Program") owned and operated by Rakuten.com Shopping (the "Company") and offered to Rakuten.com Shopping customers ("Customer(s)") that have a valid Rakuten.com Shopping Account (an "Account").
By participating in the Program, Customer(s) can earn Rakuten Super Points™ ("Super Points") subject to these Program Terms and Super Points Account balance and availability. Customer(s) must have and use a valid Account to earn Super Points on purchases made by the Customer through the Company. Continued use of an Account and participation in the Program constitutes Customer’s consent and agreement to abide by the most current version of these Program Terms as may be posted from time to time at www.rakuten.com. Customer(s) are responsible for remaining knowledgeable as to any changes that the Company may make to these Terms and Conditions. Customer(s) must be signed into their Account when making purchases to earn Super Points.
EARNING SUPER POINTS
Customer(s) will automatically become eligible and will begin to earn Super Points by establishing an Account. Super Points may be earned at a rate of one (1) Super Point for each dollar spent to purchase up to seven (7) items per order (excluding shipping fees and taxes) up to a maximum of Twenty-Five Thousand (25,000) Super Points per order. Maximum Super Points allowed for accrual may vary, depending on the promotion. Number of Super Points you earn is messaged on promotional banners, and at checkout in the ‘Rakuten Super Points’ section. Super Points are only offered to, and may be earned and redeemed only by, Customer(s) of the Company. Orders from resellers, exporters, wholesalers, any businesses of any kind for commercial resale, or any other customers for resale are null and void and otherwise subject to cancellation. These promotions cannot be combined with any other cash back reward program or Super Points promotion. Any orders for which payment is made using PayPal Express, Google Wallet, Visa Checkout, MasterPass and/or any other external payment systems do not qualify for any Super Point promotions.
SUPER POINTS ACCOUNTS
The Company reserves the right to monitor all Super Point activity in any Customer(s) Account. The Company also reserves the right to adjust the number of Super Points in any Customer Account that does not indicate the correct number of Super Points as determined by the Company in its reasonable sole discretion. Finally, the Company reserves the right to rescind all pending or available Super Points for any orders that are cancelled, refunded, or returned at any time. If any item is returned by Customer(s) for refund, then the Company reserves the right to withhold from that refund dollar amount(s) that are equal to (1) the discount awarded through redemption of Super Points during the purchase of that item; and (2) the discount awarded through redemption of any standard Super Points or any promotional Super Points during the period between (a) the original redemption purchase for which products are being returned and (b) the date of such product return. The Company reserves the right to cancel or freeze pending and available Super Points credited to an Account if that Account shows signs of fraud, abuse, illegal or otherwise suspicious activity as determined by Company in its sole discretion. In such event, the Company reserves the right to pursue all legal remedies and actions available to it including legal action to recover any damages incurred by the Company in connection with such improper activity.
Except for Super Points earned through the Rakuten Points Credit Card Rewards Program (discussed below), Super Points expire at 11:59 PM Pacific Time on the date that is One Hundred Eighty (180) days after the associated order ships, unless a subsequent purchase is made through that Account. If such subsequent purchase is made, then the otherwise-expiring Super Points will be extended for another One Hundred Eighty (180) days. Once expired, Super Points will not be reinstated. Expiration date(s) for all Super Points in an Account will be displayed on the Customer(s) Account page. If customers opt in to a promotion using a promo code, then promotional point offer terms apply.
Customer(s) must have a sufficient amount of available and eligible Super Points in their Account to qualify for a price reduction when redeeming Super Points. Super Points are not eligible for redemption until they are displayed as available Super Points in the Account. Pending Super Points cannot be redeemed during the period of pendency. All redemptions of Super Points are final and may not be cancelled. Available Super Points may be used to reduce the price of an item at checkout at the rate of One (1) Super Point per One cent ($0.01) deduction from the total of the order. A Customer(s) must use a minimum of fifty (50) Super Points when redeeming Super Points at checkout. A Customer(s) may redeem up to a maximum of either: (a) Twenty-Five Thousand (25,000) Super Points per purchase; or (b) One-Hundred Thousand (100,000) Super Points per month, whichever is lower. Super Points can only be redeemed when using a credit card to make a purchase and may not be used in combination with any other payment methods. Any refunds for orders that have used Super Points may be issued in an amount of Super Points up to a maximum amount equal to the amount of Super Points used on the order, less any adjustments as described in these Program Terms.
PROMOTIONAL POINT OFFERS
The Company may offer special limited-time promotional opportunities to earn a greater amount of Super Points for purchases of goods and services. These promotional Super Points have a limited redemption period and do not renew regardless of subsequent purchases with the Company or through the Account. These promotional Super Points are subject to these Program Terms as well as any additional terms and conditions that may be provided with the promotion and any attempt to claim any associated promotional Super Points constitutes Customer’s consent and agreement to abide by the terms of that promotional offer.
RAKUTEN POINTS CREDIT CARD REWARDS PROGRAM
Customers with a RAKUTEN REWARDS MasterCard® (“Rakuten Card”) can earn additional Super Points through the Rakuten Credit Card Rewards Program (the “Credit Card Rewards Program”). First Bankcard®, a division of First National Bank of Omaha (“First Bankcard”) is the issuer of the Rakuten Card and the sponsor of the Credit Card Rewards Program. The Company reserves the right to revise these Program Terms at any time with or without notice, including (but not limited to) the rules for earning and redeeming Super Points, the expiration policy for Super Points, and the products and services for which Super Points may be earned and redeemed; however, in no event will Card Points earned under the Credit Card Rewards Program and reported to the Program expire sooner than on or after the second anniversary of when they become available for redemption.
The Program has no predetermined termination date and may continue until such time as the Company decides to terminate the Program. The Company reserves the right, at its sole discretion and for any reason, to terminate all or any portion of the Program by giving notice to that effect by means of a posting on the homepage and/or via another method of notice that may be deemed appropriate in the Company’s sole discretion. In such an event the Program will terminate at 11:59 PM Pacific Time the next calendar day following notice of termination issuance unless otherwise stated in the notice. In the event that the Program is terminated, then actions that are required to be taken by or on behalf of an Account holder must be completed no later than five (5) calendar days after the Company has given notice of Program termination Super Points earned through the Program may be forfeited without compensation five (5) calendar days after notice of Program termination has been given.
LIMITATIONS OF LIABILITY
THE COMPANY MAKES NO WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, WITH RESPECT TO SUPER POINTS, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION, ANY EXPRESS OR IMPLIED WARRANTY OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE. IN THE EVENT THAT POINTS ARE NON-FUNCTIONAL THEN CUSTOMER’S SOLE REMEDY, AND COMPANY’S SOLE LIABILITY, SHALL BE THE REPLACEMENT OF SUCH SUPER POINTS. CERTAIN STATE LAWS DO NOT ALLOW LIMITATIONS ON IMPLIED WARRANTIES OR THE EXCLUSION OR LIMITATION OF CERTAIN DAMAGES. IF THESE LAWS APPLY, SOME OR ALL OF THE ABOVE DISCLAIMERS, EXCLUSIONS, OR LIMITATIONS MAY NOT APPLY AND CUSTOMER(S) MAY HAVE ADDITIONAL RIGHTS.
Any attempted participation except as permitted by these Program Terms, is void. The Company is not responsible for: (i) lost, late, incomplete, damaged, stolen, misdirected, illegible materials, email or mail; (ii) any computer, telephone, cable, network, satellite, electronic or Internet hardware or software malfunctions, failures, connections, or availability, (iii) garbled or jumbled transmissions; (iv) service provider/Internet/Website/use net accessibility or availability, traffic congestion, or unauthorized human intervention; or (v) inaccurate capture of any information, of Super Points, or the failure to capture any such information.
