This individual will be responsible for lead generation and acquisition of merchants to sell on our website platform in order to enhance the product assortment of our award winning Rakuten.com Shopping Marketplace. Our ideal candidate must be a self-starter and tenacious individual with an understanding of the e-commerce and a quick learner. An understanding of marketplace platforms such as Amazon or eBay is a plus. Must be very detail-oriented and foster strong working relationships, have good follow-up with potential partners, and see projects through from start to finish. We are looking for someone who has existing relationships with Digital Advertising agencies and key clients. The ideal candidate has a talent for developing and cultivating deep relationships at all levels with ad agencies. 2-3 years experience of successfully prospecting, qualifying and generating new business - experience working in online ad sales or a media buyer/planner looking to transition to sales is preferred.

You are required to have intimate knowledge of Microsoft. NET, C#, Microsoft SQL Server, Web Services, Windows Services, and Object Oriented design. Advanced knowledge of algorithms and data structures a plus, as well as knowledge of I/O optimization and caching concepts. Microsoft Enterprise Library knowledge is a plus.
You must be proficient at analyzing code and debugging server-side and potentially client-side code. Highly motivated individuals that work well on a team in a fast passed environment will be successful. Excellent communication and problem solving skills is a must. Previous experience working on a high traffic/volume retail website is a plus.
