Rakuten Buy.com Announces Executive Management Changes

ALISO VIEJO, Calif., July 20, 2012: Today, Rakuten Buy.com, the global marketplace that allows shoppers to buy from people, not the internet, announced that CEO and President Neel Grover and COO Greg Giraudi are stepping down from their current roles, effective September 1st 2012. Grover will remain on the Rakuten Buy.com Board of Directors and also become a Board Member of Rakuten USA.

Roger Andelin will return to Rakuten Buy.com as President and CTO, from his role as CEO at I'm Inc. a social networking platform. Andelin previously held the position of CIO at Rakuten Buy.com for six years, from 2002 to 2008, in his new role he will have responsibility for technology, development and finance. Andelin's background includes 25 years of experience combining a unique mix of technology and business roles. He has worked in varied organizations such as Washington Post Media, Sun Microsystems and Sony. He has a BS from the University of California, Irvine and an MBA Pepperdine University.

Bernard Luthi, Rakuten Buy.com CMO, will add the role of COO, extending his overall responsibilities to include sales and operations. Luthi brings 15 years of marketing and management experience to Rakuten Buy.com, having held senior marketing positions at several leading online retailing and technology companies including Newegg, PC Mall and Ingram Micro. He has a BA from California State University.
