Flat safe is not flat
The header for this safe states "flat safe". While the doors are flush with the frame, unfortuately the keypad panel is not; it protrudes about 1/2 inch or more. So, if you're planning on hiding this safe behind a picture, look for another product. It is probably best suited for installation in a closet or someplace where you don't wish to conceal it (for example, with a picture). Also, the instructions included are marginal at best. Poor grammar as well as weak/vague directions made it very difficult to understand how to even open the safe initially. The safe was locked with the screws inside when I received mine, so I had to remove the keypad panel to use the key to open it before installation. Unfortunately the instructions do not tell you how to easily remove the panel without damaging it (it just says "easily remove the panel" to access the keyhole), so I broke it while trying to "easily remove it". Very disappointing and may prove to be a bad investment once I get it installed. I will say the construction of the safe frame and door seem solid - so the safe gets good marks for this.
