This ladder FAR EXCEEDED our expectations. We used it to clean out our roofs rain gutters 15ft from the ground. It was strong and stable and not at all scary like many ladders we had used in the past had been. Once you get the hang of adjusting its length etc. using it will be a breeze. This ladder deserves 6 Stars not 5! If you've thought a while about making it one of your purchases, stop thinking, get it, you'll be thrilled you did......NO, I don't work for the company etc........just a very satisfied customer. Rakuten also ROCKS with their Great prices and Fast & Free delivery!!!
Have not used the extension mode yet, but in the folded mode it works fine.
Not as sturdy as I would have liked so I have someone holding it.
Do not have room for 8ft ladder so this is at least a good compromise.
Storage space is limited in our condo but we occasionally need a ladder to reach high ceilings, etc. I have owned several collapsing ladders. This is by far the most compact.
- Collapses to very compact footprint. Fits easily in an indoor utility closet.
- Easy to extend and collapse, once you get the hang of it.
- Low price
- Less stable than some ladders (recommend a spotter at full length).
- Not as strong as some heavier more expensive ladders.
- Make sure the locks are in place.
This unit will easily fit in the trunk of a small car, although at 44#, it's not light-weight.. Then too, if it were lighter in weight, it would likely not be as stable.
I have used this ladder a number of times. You really need to read the provided instructions in order to understand how to raised and lock each of the rung sections. Having a helper does not hurt either, but with a little experience, a lone person can manage this.
I removed the ladder from my RV since it did not really inspire confidence in being able to support my 230# frame. This ladder travels with me now down in the cargo hold.
Note - When extending, make sure that each side is completely latched by pushing on the sliding latch toward the outside of the ladder. Sometimes they need a little more effort to totally seat.
I highly recommend this ladder..
OMG - If you care for you life stay away from this

Way heavier than expected and I find the instructions very difficult to understand. The saftey bar on the bottom had no way of attaching as the holes didnt line up. Once extended I couldnt figure out how collapse the hinges completely. When fully extended there is no safety grip on the top half rails. If I keep using I have no doubt this is how I will die. Plus now that I have it I cant even figure out who the manufacturer is so that I can ask questions. Save your money. Then thank me for saving your life.
It sure is convenient. It takes a bit of practice to work it smoothly, and this is not a commercial grade ladder, but it does the job just fine for light duty home use.I felt very stable and secure even with my 250 lb weight. Easily stored close by and ready to use when you have a quick job to do. Clean the gutters, refill the bird feeder. 2nd floor emergency escape ladder? Maybe that too!
closes down to a fairly compact size but its a little heavy at about 35 pounds. like that its a 8 foot step ladder if needed or a 16 foot extension ladder when open all the way. only caution is you really want to be careful to check that each step is locked before climbing up on it. can't just throw it up and climb or you could fall if a step isn't locked all the way.
This ladder is a great deal. I was a little concerned regarding some of the reviews stating it was hard to lock the rungs in place. We had it set up and in just a few minutes and locking the rungs into place was not confusing at all. This ladder will be great for what we need it for. We basically need it to get to our 17' ceilings, gutters, and Christmas lights.
Pretty light, easy to carry around. Steps are a bit of a challenge to lock. Has a bit of flex when fully extended, but pretty secure. Super convenient to use for a 16+ foot ladder overall. Simple to open in tight places and extend up.
Quickly becoming my favorite ladder for quick tasks around the house. Easier to carry than a 6 foot step ladder!
The problem with this ladder is that when fully extended (as an extension ladder instead of a step ladder), it is not really usable. The hinge joint in the middle is weak and as a result, when fully extended, you'd have to be crazy to climb up 16' because the ladder is like a trampoline, bouncing in and out as you climb. Even climbing up the bottom half is too unstable to be safe (let alone if carrying a can of paint or something). Seems ok as a step ladder, but I needed 16' extension ladder.
