"Winner of 5 Emmy Award for 2006, Including Outstanding Drama Series and Outstanding Lead Actor (Kiefer Sutherland) in a Drama Series!"
Eighteen months after faking his own death, Jack Bauer is forced to return to Los Angeles when it becomes apparent that the only four people who know he is still alive are being systemically targeted for assassination. The assassinations coincide with the signing of an anti-terrorism treaty between Russia and the U.S., leading Jack to suspect a link between the assassinations, the treaty, and a group of Russian terrorists. But as events slowly unfold it becomes apparent that the day's horrific events were originally set in motion by someone within our country's own administration... an individual with the power and resources to thwart Jack's every move.Disc 1:7:00AM-8:00AMCommentary by Kiefer Sutherland & Jon CassarCommentary by Jon Cassar & Howard Gordon8:00-9:00AM9:00-10:00AM10:00-11:00AMCommentary by Jon Cassar & Howard GordonBonus Materials:3 Extra ScenesDisc 2:11:00AM -12:00PM12:00PM-1:00PMCommentary by David Fury & John Allen Nelson1:00PM-2:00PM2:00PM-3:00PMCommentary by Evan Katz & Brad TurnerBonus Materials:4 extra scenesDisc 3:3:00PM-4:00PMCommentary by Tim Iacofano & Julian Sands4:00PM-5:00PMCommentary by Jean Smart & Greg Itzin5:00PM-6:00PMCommentary by Matt Michnovetz, Duppy Demetrius, and Nicole Ranadive6:00PM-7:00PMBonus Materials:7 extra scenesDisc 4:7:00PM-8:00PM8:00PM-9:00PM9:00PM-10:00PMCommentary by Jon Cassar & Joseph Hodges10:00PM-11:00PMBonus Materials:2 Extra ScenesDisc 5:11:00PM-12:00AM12:00AM-1:00AMCommentary by Howard Gordon & Mary Lynn Rajskub1:00AM-2:00AM2:00AM-3:00AMDisc 6:3:00AM-4:00AMCommentary by Manny Coto & Jude Ciccollela4:00AM-5:00AM5:00AM-6:00AM6:00AM-7:00AMCommentary by Bob Cochran & Greg ItzinBonus Materials:7 Extra ScenesDisc 7:Bonus Materials:Featurette:SUPPORTING PLAYERSFeaturette:UNSUNG HEROES: 24 CAMERA DEPTFeaturette:MUSIC BY SEAN CALLERYFeaturette:LOGANS RETREATDVD-ROM FEATURE100TH EPISODE REEL24: BEHIND THE SCENES23 Extended & Deleted Scenes w/ Optional Commentary by Stephen Kronish & Scott PowellSystem Requirements:Run Time: 1012 minsFormat: DVD MOVIE

Editor's Note
Created by Joel Surnow (LA FEMME NIKITA, MIAMI VICE) and Robert Cochran (LA FEMME NIKITA, THE COMMISH), 24 assumes its familiar format of real-time action, unfolding over the course of a 24-hour period. This season, Jack Bauer (Kiefer Sutherland) has gone underground, working on an oil rig near L.A. under an assumed name, But a series of murders targeting the few people who know Jack is still alive brings Jack back to town, just as the president is preparing to sign an arms treaty in L.A. Suddenly, Jack finds himself the prime suspect in his confidantes' murders.

Variety 9 of 10
Far from running out of tricks, the fifth season of "24" opens with a bang, incorporating an element of mystery that promises to be more satisfying than the somewhat disappointing fourth day in Jack Bauer's very busy life. Traditionally, the series starts its year on a high and sags in the middle rounds, but Fox's clever scheduling ploy of launching the show with four hours over two nights should plant the hook deep based on a preview of those episodes, leading loyalists to hang on for the thrill ride...Joining the ensemble, meanwhile, is the intriguing Jean Smart as the troubled First Lady and Sean Astin as a new overseer of the Counter-Terrorism Unit. - Brian Lowry

CultureDose.net 9 of 10
...24 proved to be dark, gutsy, groundbreaking television. Series creators Robert Cochran and Joel Surnow presented audiences with an intelligently-written, ever more intricate story of conspiracy and intrigue. Sutherland, too, proved a surprise. Forget his career woes; he's a terrific actor, and perfectly cast here in the lead role...Kiefer Sutherland is a revelation as Jack Bauer. An actor with far greater range than he ever had the opportunity to display back in the Young Guns days, he has the requisite strength and depth to make Jack a believable character. - Kathleen Diehl
