|Our 9579 27" IPS LED monitor has been a brilliant success. It is in such high demand that we can't keep it in stock. So obviously we should step up the production line and make more, right? Wrong!|
While it was a brilliant success, there were some things that customers didn't like and asked to have improved. We've listened to those concerns, made appropriate changes, added a few improvements of our own, and are now offering the new and improved 27" IPS-ZERO-G Monitor at the same price point as the previous model!
The heart of this monitor is the brilliant display panel made by LG. This panel features a maximum brightness level of 440cd/m², a tight 2560x1440 maximum resolution, and up to 80,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio. It features a 178° viewing angle in both the horizontal and vertical planes. The monitor is primarily intended for use with the Dual Link DVI-D interface, but a VGA interface is included as a backup.
The display is housed in an ultra-thin bezel with a glossy glass, anti-glare laminate that extends to the very edge of the bezel, for a clean, modern appearance. Responding to criticisms monitor's casing, we've upgrade it to an all metal case. The fixed plastic stand was replaced with a heavy-duty metal reinforced stand, which can be detached by removing a single screw. The monitor also sports a 100x100 VESA mounting pattern, making it compatible with most wall and desk mounts.
We also improved the interface to the monitor in two ways. First, we moved the connectors from the bottom of the panel, which offered too little room for maneuver, to the side, which makes it much easier to see and access the connections. We also improved the menu control buttons by making them larger, with greater spacing, and made the power button a different shape so that it is easy to distinguish by feel alone.
As with the previous model, we are standing behind this monitor with a 5-dead-pixel warranty for a period of one (1) year from the date of purchase. If you can count five dead pixels, we'll send you a new monitor.
Customer Reviews of 27" IPS-ZERO-G Slim Monitor WQHD 2560x1440 - Dual Link DVI, VGA
Really nice for the price .. I love it
Great monitor for an awesome price9/10/2014
Got lucky - no dead pixels. Good brightness and color rendering. Stand seems to have been updated to be more substantial. Very happy with the purchase.
This monitor is pretty sweet!9/9/2014
It has deep blacks, great color and an amazing clear picture with a good viewing angle. My monitor arrived without any dead or stuck pixels and came double boxed for extra protection. The only complaints I have are that the power supply is really bulky and there's no HDMI input. Overall this is a great value and I would buy it again.
You really can't complain about a quality IPS panel at this price!
27 inch Monitor9/4/2014
Great monitor for the price! My only complaint is the DVI cable is very short 1 meter. If you purchase it and your computer is not next to the monitor plan on buying a new DVI cable, just make sure the new cable is rated for the high resolution output of this monitor.
good but can't do 2546x19009/1/2014
good but can't do 2546x1900 for my mac pro retina
Beautiful monitor and picture with some slight calibration.
The high resolution IPS panel has excellent picture quality. No dead pixel. The adjustment option is limited but for my work (coding) it's not an issue. Excellent bang for the bucks.
The picture quality is great, it is vivid and clear. More than expected!
Monitor arrived in a thin box which looked like it was in good condition, but once opened up the box saw the glass pieces and the cracked/shattered monitor. Have contacted monoprice and was asked to email them the information and have gotten no response from them.
Great for the money8/25/2014
So far, so good. I first bought the other 27" monitor Monoprice sells (the one with speakers and HDMI and DisplayPort), and it died in a week. I bought 2 of these on a super sale, and they are gorgeous. I hope they last longer than the other one. A few points: - no HDMI, or DisplayPort, only DVI-D and VGA - no speakers - height is not adjustable - buttons are on the back - backlight seems to bleed some
I took a chance on a Korean non-brand name 1440p monitor. I saw pretty decent reviews of this one, so I picked it up. Feels very quality construction, and most importantly it is very sharp. I didn't get any dead pixels, and I couldn't be happier with it. I would recommend it.
Very good picture quality. Easy to assemble and use. Only negative is the controls at the back.
Awesome Monitor (if you don't adjust the brightnes4/3/2014
I started researching these cheaper Korean 2560x1440 monitors after seeing some solid reviews. I saw a deal on these I just couldn't pass up when they were on sale a few weeks ago. Needless to say I pulled the trigger and bought three for a multi-monitor surround setup for a 7680x1440 display :) Diablo 3 and WoW are amazing. The only downfall is that the display is very bright; if you adjust the brightness it kills the contrast: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/achieva_27_ips-zero-g.htm
A really good deal especially consider its price. The display is stunning, the color is vibrant, bright (too bright by its default setting, but you can adjust it), not a single dead pixel.Owning it for a couple of weeks now, hope it lasts.
Looks good. Hopefully will last a while
Very sharp and colorful picture. I was fortunate to have no dead pixels. For price you can't go wrong. Cons: Buttons, including power button, found on the rear. No Display Port. Uses power brick.
One corner of screen is badly discolored (brownish like burned) and has some visible small bubbles in the glass. But since my wife needs to use it for her work, I did not bother to return. It is inexpensive. Other than the defect, it would have been a perfect monitor. Too bad that Monoprice does not have strict quality control and let such an obviously defective monitor be shipped out.
Very nice monitor, and very reasonable price3/30/2014
The 27" IPS-ZERO-G Slim Monitor WQHD is super sharp and seems to have very nice color accuracy. But you do need to realize your trade-offs. Yes, 27" is a very large screen--so make sure that you have enough space for it--but at 2560 x 1440, it's also got a very large number of pixels. And this means that the characters on your screen will be very small unless you increase the magnification (which reduces how much you can put on the screen). The net of it is that you can get super sharp text or a lot of very small text. One other use: I am planning to use a monitor stand to put this into portrait mode, because Word 2013 needs a lot of horizontal space when tracking changes.
Just as advertised!1/10/2014
Excellent quality Korean made monitor for less than 1/3 the price of a comparable Apple display. I use the VGA connector and it works well. Notable improvement in resolution, brightness and contrast. There was a slight yellow cast initially, but disappeared after a week of use. Highly recommended.
Zero G slim monitor review1/3/2014
This monitor looks amazing, it makes other monitors I was using look like garbage. I have played quite a few games at 1440p so far and they all look fantastic. The only downside is the slight light bleed from the top two corners when the screen is completely black, but you wont notice it 99% of the time.
Graphic Designer Loves this Monitor12/31/2013
This is a simple but fantastic monitor. Yes, the base isn't great, but it holds up the monitor just fine. It's not like its going to break in two. I think it's fine. The only complaint would be that it doesn't allow for the monitor to move up and down. I knew this before I purchased the monitor...so I am okay with it. The color is awesome. The quality is awesome. It's super thin. And no dead pixels. This is a great monitor for me, as I am a graphic designer.
Best Bang for Buck12/27/2013
using this product for about awhile now, and at the moment you can't beat the value for 2560 x 1440. Very Nice resolutions don't see any dead pixels. Works great for movies and gaming. Overall I'm a Happy Customer.
Amazing screen quality12/24/2013
You will be blown away on the screen quality and definition. had upgrade my video card to accommodate the new resolution but worth it.
Paperweight in less than a month12/22/2013
The monitor stopped working within a month of purchasing it.
Great Display / Horrid Menu12/19/2013
Let me start by saying that the display is amazing quality. Excellent viewing angle, great colors and response. The biggest problem is trying to navigate the menu. Does not automatically detect which input is used (VGA/DVI), and it won't let you select if there is no display on the current input.
Very good buy12/14/2013
Excellent image quality, very thin, affordable price
Now that I've finally gotten my monitor to place nice with my old monitor and my GPU it's the best decision I've ever made. I've had it about a week-week and a half and I only got everything to work correctly a couple nights ago. Make sure all of your drivers on all partitions are up to date otherwise you may have some issues with no images displaying if a second screen is plugged in at all.
Excellent Monitor for the price, Glad I bought it.12/11/2013
First impression: 1. The stand looks kind of cheap but once you put it on it doesn't look that bad. Its seems sturdy enough for me. You can tilt it up and down at the joint section. 2. The buttons and controls are hidden behind the monitor which is a great feature. 3. No dead/stuck pixel that I can see. I used the following: http://jasonfarrell.com/misc/deadpixeltest.php 4. Build quality is superb. 5. Color/contrast/brightness need no adjustments (Plug and Play).
Awesome monitor - huge screen with maximum resolut12/9/2013
Just got it today and I am liking it. Stand is not sturdy... top of the monitor swings couple of inches. Only VGA and DVI (dual) connections - no HDMI. Very thin.. thinner than my 21" LED monitor. 2560x1440 resolution gives unbelievably large space on the screen. I bought it for working with huge microsoft excel files. so can't comment on more technical aspects, but color, viewing angle all looks good. Hope this lasts for long.
Great 27" 1440p monitor at budget price!12/9/2013
Nice aluminum bezel and bright screen. No major backlight bleed or dead pixels! For the price this 27" 1440p IPS monitor can't be beat! Monitor settings are very limited but not a problem.
Excellent screen and affordable price12/7/2013
Excellent product but it is even better with stronger stand and HDMI input instead of VGA.
Great monitor - but...11/29/2013
I love this monitor for its great display appearance, but the stand is kind of cheap. I therefore replaced it with a much better one. Also, it really only has one usable (digital input). This was OK for one of my computers, but when I decided to upgrade my other system, I bought a similar monitor that included DP, HDMI and DVI.
Very high resolution on this monitor. You will need a powerful graphics card to run 2 of these at the same time. If you do you are set for the next 5 years. No need to upgrade. Great Price.
Very nice monitors10/7/2013
These monitors are very nice! The picture quality is stunnning. The glass and aluminum front panel and full metal back add to the quality look and feeling. These monitors are an outstanding value.
nice monitor for the price9/30/2013
The price is comparable to that of a 27" 1080p monitor, but this has 77.78% more pixels. The 2560x1440 resolution is awesome for gaming and work. Desktop area feels huge compared with the 1920x1080 monitor it replaced. No dead pixels. Looks fantastic. This is a consumer-grade monitor though. The stand is not the sturdiest and backlight bleeds through on the lower corners. All things considered, I'm very happy with this.
