This 3Com Switch 8800 Network Monitoring Module, integrated within the Switch 8800 system, delivers high-speed acquisition of network data for analysis. This module provides a crucial element in an overall NetFlow application architecture by operating as a Network Data Exporter (NDE). As an NDE, this Network Monitoring Module processes and stores statistical data, and then exports this across the network to a Network Data Collector (NDC). It occupies any I/O payload slot in the 3Com Switch 8800 chassis. Designed for the needs of medium-sized enterprises, this module has its own operating system, allowing the data acquisition processes to be separated from the switch processing.
