Muze PNote Golden Gate Groove: The Sound of Philadelphia in San Francisco documents a Philadelphia International Records showcase recorded in 1973 at CBS Records' annual convention. Backed by PIR house band MFSB, Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes, the O'Jays, Billy Paul, and the Three Degrees roll through some of the label's best and most popular material, almost all of which has been considered classic for several decades. The introduction comes from television legend Don Cornelius, whose Soul Train program used "T.S.O.P. (The Sound of Philadelphia)" -- performed here, of course -- as its theme song.

Producer: Leo Sacks; Rob Santos

Engineer: Joe Tarsia
