Kingston HyperX 120GB 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drive (SSD) - SH100S3/120G
Faster Speeds for Serious Users
Kingston’s HyperX SSD lets users load games and applications faster, increase frames per second (FPS) and quickly transfer and edit large media files. It’s cool, silent and requires less power with no additional cooling requirements.
When configuring the HyperX SSD partition, the user can choose between having the maximum available capacity for data storage, or give up a little space to increase performance and endurance. This additional space is called over provisioning1 on an SSD. The amount of performance and endurance increase depends upon the type of data being stored on the HyperX SSD. The more data that is MPEG, JPG, ZIP, ARC, file types, the greater the benefit for this increased over provisioning.
HyperX SSD uses an advanced wear leveling technology that distributes writes evenly across all the Flash blocks in the SSD to maximize overall drive endurance. Additionally, this ensures that the individual Flash memory blocks are consumed at a very balanced rate, not to exceed a 2% difference between the most often written blocks and least written. This enables the HyperX SSD to provide the longest possible life for the user while maintaining optimal performance.
HyperX SSD is covered by a three-year warranty and backed by 24/7 live technical support and legendary Kingston reliability.

Customer Reviews of Kingston HyperX 120GB 2.5" SATA III Solid State Drive (SSD)
The good: I got this SSD to be my boot drive and installed it in my cpu with no problems. Windows 7 went on without a hitch. It increased my windows experience index for hard drive, ram and processor and it seems very fast. The packaging was very good and the build quality seems very solid. With a newer main board capable of sata 6 it would be great. Customer service promptly answered my call with almost no hold time and they spoke good english!
Fast. Very Fast.9/12/2011
This is my first SSD and having used it for over a month now I will never go back to old school HDD's. I built a new rig for gaming and although I haven't installed any newer games this drive loads a BF2 map in about 10 seconds. Windows 7 loads in 11 seconds (after mobo boot screen) AMAZING! Pros- Fast! I did drive benchmarks using 3 different programs and READ ranged from 425-550. Kingston has truly delivered. Cons- Expensive, but IMO it's worth it. Other thoughts- If doing a fresh install make sure this is the only drive hooked up and change your SATA contoller in bios to AHCI mode. At first I only got speeds of 200-300 because I was running in IDE mode. You can change this post O/S installation by simply making a change in the registry.
