Author Bio
Lillian Hoban
Best known for her picture books about Frances the badger and her easy-reader books about Arthur the chimp, Lillian Hoban led an interesting life before she settled down to write and illustrate children's books. A graduate of the Philadelphia Museum School of Art, Hoban studied dance with Martha Graham and worked as a professional dancer. Many of the books she created, including the Frances series, were written with her then-husband, Russell Hoban.

Encouraged to draw and paint as a child, Russell Hoban eventually went on to write and illustrate children's books, many with his first wife, Lillian. However, he also enjoyed writing, and has written several novels for adults. "Riddley Walker" is the most acclaimed of these novels, winning the National Book Critics Circle Award, the Nebula Award, and the John W. Campbell Memorial Award, as well as the Australian Science Fiction Achievement Award.
