Author Bio
Lois Duncan
Lois Duncan sold her first story when she was 13 years old. Duncan writes for all age ranges but is best known for her young adult novels, many of which focus on the supernatural or are psychological thrillers. In DON'T LOOK BEHIND YOU (1989), the main character, April Corrigan, and her family are chased across the country by a Camaro-driving hitman. The character of April was based on Duncan's own daughter, Kaitlyn. Soon after the publication of the book, Kaitlyn was shot and killed by a person driving a Camaro. Dissatisfied with the police investigation, Duncan began her own probe of the murder. She turned up many strange coincidences between what she wrote in her novels and what later happened in real life. The book WHO KILLED MY DAUGHTER? is a factual account of her search for her daughter's killer. In 1991, Duncan was awarded the Margaret A. Edwards Award for lifetime achievement.
