From the "New York Times"-bestselling author of "A Husband''s Wicked Ways" comes her latest alluring romance novel. Original.
From the Publisher:
New York Times bestselling author Jane Feather again delights with her new book in this entrancing Georgian trilogy featuring three noble brothers who are offered a preposterous opportunity to restore their family’s mortgaged lands. An eccentric uncle promises a lavish inheritance, but only if each marries—thus redeeming—a fallen woman. And if even one brother fails to fulfill the old man’s decree, none will gain the windfall.

Lady Serena Grantley was born to the nobility, but fortune's whim placed her in control of her gamester stepfather, who uses her beauty to lure young men to his gambling tables. Serena even dismissed her first love, the Honorable Sebastian Sullivan, at her stepfather's command. But when he attempts to force her into a liaison with a dissolute earl, Serena resolves to do his bidding no more. Sebastian is the only man who ever captured her heart, and it is to him she turns. . . .

Torn between family loyalty and the woman he loves, Sebastian faces a devilish dilemma. His uncle is ailing, and time is running short. Desperate to find a solution, Sebastian conceives a dangerous plan—a wager that could bring him and Serena happiness at last . . . or separate them forever. When her cruel stepfather tries to force her into a liaison with a depraved earl, Lady Serena Grantley defies him and turns to the Honorable Sebastian Sullivan, the man she secretly loves, for help in starting a new life.

Annotation:

Sebastian loves her too, but unless he can work out a clever scheme to win support for their marriage, he can never make her his wife.
Author Bio
Jane Feather
Jane Feather is the best-selling author of dozens of historical romances, most featuring strong and iconoclastic heroines. "I've always enjoyed creating women characters who stand out against the conventional lives expected of them in any particular historical period," she told one interviewer. Citing Queen Elizabeth I of England and Empress Catherine of Russia, she asserted, "Throughout history there are always real-life examples of strong, dynamic, and unconventional women to be found." The author was born Jane Robotham in Cairo, Egypt, where her parents were stationed with the diplomatic corps. They returned to England when Jane was three, and she enjoyed what she has described as a traditional British childhood. Her primary education stressed literature and history, and among her favorite authors were Jane Austen and Daphne Du Maurier. She earned a master's degree from the University of Oxford not in those subjects, however, but in the very practical field of applied social science. In 1978 she moved with her husband and three young children to the U.S., and she initially practiced clinical social work in various urban areas of New Jersey. The family ultimately settled in the Washington, D.C. area, and, tired of writing case studies and bureaucratic reports, Feather decided that the time was right to combine her love of history and literature by penning a historical romance. Her first, LOVE'S CHARADE, was published in 1986, and she has since developed an impressively large number of fans, who are particularly enthusiastic about her Regency romances. In 2009 her espionage-tinged novel A HUSBAND'S WICKED WAYS garnered the Romance Writers of America's RITA Award as best Regency title of the year.
