From the Publisher:

Absolute brightness: The mystery of Leonard Pelkey.

This is the story of a luminous force of nature: a boy who encounters evil and whose magic isn't truly felt until he disappears.

Annotation:
Fifteen-year-old Phoebe doesn't quite know how to react when her slightly younger and unabashedly gay cousin Leonard moves in with her family. The flamboyant Leonard stands out in the small town of Neptune, New Jersey, and although he soon has many friends, there are also some neighbors who are less than welcoming. When Leonard disappears Phoebe reflects on how much her cousin has come to mean to her and begins to fear that he might never return home.
