Very nice programs9/25/2007
I have used the program several times to make slideshow presentations, and to restore old photos and the product has worked as well as I had hoped that it would. I had some questions about using the program at first that I could not find a clear answer for in the manual or help files. Closed the help file and manual and just did want was most logical, program worked, presentations completed, and I am very happy with the product and its performance. The interaction of the two programs is really nice, and can be used to make great DVDs presentations that my family can enjoy for years to come. I definately prefer this program to the Roxio programs I have used in the past and also purchased for use on my new computer with Vista. For me, Roxio has had compatibility problems which I don't have with the Adobe Photoshop and Premier Elements bundled software.
Photoshop has a steep learning curve9/15/2007
I looked forward to finally purchasing Photoshop Elements as I had been using other photo organizers that lacked features I wanted. Photoshop has some of these features, such as the capability to work with RAW files. However, I find some elements missing that I would think would be there. Another program I use has a feature called "quick slideshow" where you can select a new group of photos and the program will scroll through them full screen. I find this feature very useful for photo selection (what we used to do with a magnifying glass and a contact sheet). If Adobe has this feature, it is not intuitively found. I would also like an easy way to tag favorites during this review which again, if Adobe has it, it is not intuitive. I think Adobe needs to have a lot more customer input into its decisions about features to put in its software. As far as the editing elements, Photoshop is known for having a steep learning curve, but the capabilities of the software make it ultimately worth it.
I'm new to photo and video editing, but have plans to do a lot. This program pkg is a fantastic value even before the rebate. Both programs are extensive, and adobe offers free online classes for each as soon as you register. I definitely recommend this bundle to anyone looking for photo and video editing.
I've used Adobe Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements since it first came out and have upgraded it every time a new version was available. With each version something new is added that helps you make wonderful cards, slideshows and videos and this one is no exception. Amazingly, it comes with a paper manual which is unheard of today. Highly recommend this product.
Adobe Photoshop 5 and Premiere Elements 35/14/2007
What a great deal Adobe offered in selling Photoshop and Premiere Elements together. With the $30 rebate it was like getting them both for the price of one. I'm finding that both programs compliment each other. They have similar work functions that make it easy to inner-act. A big THANKS for the online tutorial help and for the user guide books that accompany the software. I keep the guide book right by my side. I'm not a professional but I do like to create and use my family pictures in fun ways and Adobe makes it easy to do that.
