Author Bio
Garth Nix
Garth Nix is best known for his two middle-grade fantasy series--Keys to the Kingdom and The Seventh Tower--as well as the young-adult fantasy trilogy Abhorsen and the chilling novel SHADE'S CHILDREN. The Australian writer was an enthusiastic reader as a child growing up in Canberra, the national capital. After time spent in the Australian Army Reserve; travel in Europe, the Middle East, and Asia; and fitting in a B.A. from the University of Canberra in 1986, Nix has done everything from working in a bookstore to publishing and marketing. Some of his favorite authors are Ursula Le Guin, Diana Wynne Jones, Alan Garner, and Joan Aiken.
