This begins in January, and January is okay. It begins like December as thought their join is seamless. Sometimes as though the bright days of summer will last forever. (from the first line)

Annotation:
School's finally over, and while Alex anxiously waits for his university placement results to be published in the paper along with everyone else's, he and his mother have left Brisbane for the beach. Lazy days are filled with a predictable routine of bodysurfing, tea drinking, and reading. Alex is a "socially disadvantaged nerd." The only girl he has ever kissed was in the school play--and he sadly remembered the 13 rehearsals and two shows as a full-blown relationship. Then Alex catches sight of a golden girl with flaxen hair surfing on the beach. Suddenly, all his time is spent watching for her, hoping that something might happen....Nick Earls is the author of the hilarious 48 SHADES OF BROWN.
