In a small cafe in Nouvion, this harassed proprietor is having a difficult war. With the German Army in residence at the bar, Rene is risking his neck to aid the Resistance by hiding two British airmen and a radio transmitter upstairs. As is this wasn't enough, Rene has also got involved in hiding a priceless painting in a garlic sausage, which even now is being sniffed out by the Gestapo. But Rene's real problem is his wife, Edith, and what she will do to him when she finds out about his affairs with two sexy waitresses!|

"...fun farce, well nigh impossible to dislike. David Annandale, UpcomingDiscs.com
"...[combining] the manic farce and light satire of [Are You Being Served? and The Benny Hill Show]...it will keep you giggling from beginning to end. John Floyd, DVD Verdict
"...for those viewers who treasure anything British, from Monty Python to Are You Being Served?, to The Royle Family. Paul Mavis, DVD Talk
"...a great original premise, a wonderful cast and several hilarious ideas over the years. Stefan Hedmark, The MovieHamlet
Editor's NoteOccupied France seems an unlikely choice for a sitcom setting. However, that's the genius of the BBC gem 'ALLO 'ALLO. Taking a decidedly unfunny premise (the Nazi occupation of France) and combining it with a hilarious cast of characters made this one of the most beloved Britcoms. Rene Artois (Gordon Kaye) may own a café in Nouvion, but he occupies his time with his two mistresses, a meddling wife, and La Résistance. Featuring giggle-inducing double entendres, this bawdy series comes from the creative forces behind the classic ARE YOU BEING SERVED? This collection presents all nine seasons on the British comedy series.
