As a long-time consumer of mid-fi and hi-fi audio components, I was surprised how--when paired with my 40GB mp3 player--I was able to enjoy relatively full sound from such a small package. Well accessorized and manufactured, this set of speakers seems to be a good sounding alternative for those of us who dont own an Ipod. Works with any source with a small headphone jack.

Purchased two and took them on vacation. Used at the beach and pool side. Absolutely phenomenal speakers for the size and the price. I used them with my MP3 player(Creative Zen Xtra)and the sound was more than enough to fill the resort room, poolside and beach area. The size made for easy travel in a backpack. I used rechargable (AA)batteries, and the tunes lasted all day. These speakers are the best I have ever used and I have used many portable speakers. Furthermore it just looks good!! Many a passerby's were impressed that such wonderful sound came from small speakers such as these. Altec Lansing is a wonderful brand, and these speakers are great.
