There's something about your first piece.
A riotous and rowdy exploration of the most eagerly anticipated and ofter most humiliationg, rite of adulthood, losing one's virginity. In this hilarious lesson in life and libido, a group of friends try a different but equally outrageous approach to scoring with the opposite sex.

"Raunchy gags gave this film its reputation, but they grow honestly out of its believable characters and situations.  Leonard Maltin's Movie & Video Guide
"...[a] warped, hysterical and-believe it or not-sweet little gem of a movie.  Michael O'Sullivan, Washington Post
"Comedy Heaven! A prime slice of raunchy fun!  Peter Travers, Rolling Stone

Editor's Note
A surprise hit comedy, Paul and Chris Weitz's AMERICAN PIE follows four high school friends--Jim (Jason Biggs), Finch (Eddie Kaye Thomas), Kevin (Thomas Ian Nicholas), and Oz (Chris Klein)--through their sexually frustrated senior year. Boy-next-door Kevin hopes to finally lose his virginity to his bubbly girlfriend, Vicky (Tara Reid), while football player Oz begins an unlikely relationship with quiet chorus girl Heather (Mena Suvari). Finch struggles to maintain his cool air of witty detachment, while the neurotic Jim, most famously, has an intimate moment with apple pastry--and, eventually, sexy exchange student Nadia (Shannon Elizabeth). This hysterical yet sensitive movie also features memorable characters such as the ever-wise Jessica (Natasha Lyonne), the imbecilic Stifler (Seann William Scott), the dorky Sherminator (Chris Owen), the flute-playing Michelle (Alyson Hannigan), and Jim's hilariously nerdy dad (Eugene Levy).

Ribald in the extreme and wildly, wickedly funny...along with the expected irreverence, there's an honest intelligence at work here that doesn't try to paint adolescents as simply smaller and better-looking versions of their parents... With the exception of Stifler...all the characters here are complex, fully three-dimensional people, not archetypes. - Michael O'Sullivan
