Author Bio
Chelsea Quinn Yarbro
Chelsea Quinn Yarbro wanted to write from the age of 4, but it wasn't until 1970, when she was 28, that she started to write professionally. She went to San Francisco State College (now University) from 1960 to 1963, when she went to work in her family's cartography business. She also became a counselor for mentally disturbed children, a job she held for two years. In 1970, when the cartography business failed, Yarbro decided to give writing professionally a try, eventually selling her first novel in 1976. In 1978 she introduced her longest-lasting character, Count Saint-Germain, in HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA. The Saint-Germain novels, which follow the "life" of a 4,000-year old vampire through the ages, have proven very popular, many of them becoming bestsellers. Yarbro is a believer in the occult and has published several books of conversations that she and others claim to have had with a spirit named Michael. In addition to writing, she is a professional tarot reader, having taught it from 1974 to 1979. She has also worked as a musician and voice teacher.
