This high performance UHF antenna has a higher gain and a smaller beam angle than conventional Yagi antennas. The reflector grids create an improved front to back ratio with shorter construction while the 91 elements truly make it one of the highest gain UHF antennas available.
Although the 91XG Uni-Directional Antenna is one of the highest gain UHF antennas made, it is also very directional. If you live more than 60 miles from the transmitters, you must get as much elevation on the antenna as possible. Even with its great gain, it cannot pick up signals blocked by the curvature of the earth.
Customer Reviews of Antennas Direct 91XG Uni-Directional Antenna - 16.7 dBi
This antenna has a stronger signal than my db8 antenna. The installation guide is poor.
Now get 49 FREE channels5/27/2011
I am so impressed with this antenna. I use a powered pre-amp with it and I get 49 channels. I am ditching the dish and the monthly payment that comes along with it. I highly reccomend this antenna!!
I live in Central NJ and wanted to get both NY and Phily tv stations. The problems was the hills and two story houses all around me. I was told I would need to get my antenna up in the air about 50'and use a high gain antenna. I first tried a 8 bay bow tie at 35' and got spotty reception and then I bought this antenna. What a difference! The Antennas Direct 91xg is lighter, smaller in size, and super high gain. I now can get all the stations in both directions with the help of a rotor. Would highly recommend this antenna to anyone who lives in a fringe area.
Excellent Large UHF Antenna3/15/2009
You simply cant beat the performance of this antenna if you are looking for a long range, high directivity antenna. Take into consideration that this antenna is large, it can nevertheless, be assembled in 1/3, 2/3 and full length configurations. The 2/3 config is the same as its smaller sibling the 43XG. The last 1/3 of the boom adds marginal gain in most circumstances, but if you are fighting multipath situations, this is the way to go. I am pulling in stations from 70 miles away. Highly recommend with a ChannelMaster CM7777 Preamp. Educate yourself at http://www.highdefforum.com/local-hdtv-info-reception-9/ and tvfool.com so you can design the proper solution for your OTA goals. Can't beat buy.com's price and delivery timelines. No need to look further if ready to buy.
Excellent Reception in my Attic11/28/2007
I bought this to pull in HD stations from more than 45 miles away... it does an excellent job of this on all UHF stations, at lot more than 45 miles away, sitting in my attic... of course, this antenna is quite large and you need a large attic space for this fit in the attic :-)
