Definitely Does The Job!6/25/2014
After using a Sony MDR-NC7 headphones for a few years, I tried the ATH-ANC25 to compare. The Sony has better ear cups that surround the ears and are quite comfortable. However, the Sony provides very little noise reduction. The ATH-ANC25 has flat ear cups that are not as comfortable. But it delivers a MUCH better noise reduction. After turning on, you can hear the outside noise gradually fading after about 2 seconds. Another benefit of the ATH-ANC25 is the detachable cord, and a power switch that does not turn on accidentally like the Sony. An excellent value for the price!
I found these headphones to be merely mediocre. Their design of sitting on the ear rather than cupping the ear makes them uncomfortable to wear for more than a few minutes. Noise cancellation is just okay as is sound quality. My ableplanet NC200W's are broken with one ear piece held only by the wires, and I still prefer them over these headphones
A good product3/20/2013
I have a Bosch ($295) product. Comparatively this product is a bargain.
DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY12/20/2010
These are BAD. The noise cancellation is non-existant and they feel cheaply made.
Value for money12/6/2010
This piece of headset is not the best, but come on, at 35$ it's a steal! Its reproduction is good, the noise cancellation is so so. It just dilutes the other noises and increases the sound intensity. I was expecting more from Audio Technnica, though settled for less.
A decent headphone with great price12/5/2010
I bought this to use it while I am on the lawn tractor. The voice cancelation function isn't as good as I thought, I have to turn the volume all the way to the highest level to be able to hear the song. But with the price I am paying, i can't complain too much.
Great Travel Over-Ear Headphone11/23/2010
I received these on Friday, and was testing them the very next day in airports and on airliners. The sound quality, with the on-board battery-operated amp, is exceptional. Bass response is especially full, compared to standard earbuds. These over-hear phones also don't have the current "ghetto" look of many newcomer headphone companies. The collapsable design is innovative, and does not really sacrifice comfort or performance. Makes you wonder why all phones aren't created this way. Minor Cons: The noise-cancelling feature is marginal, as it does mask about 25% of the ambient white noise, while not really reducing the screech of crying babies, etc. But at 1/8 the price of Bose Quiet Comfort Noise Cancelling Headphones, that's an acceptable trade-off. One note about the size. The phones feel a bit snug on a larger head (my head is 7-5/8) over long trips. However, the detachable single audio cable, travel bag and gold-tipped airline adapter are nice and classy accessories that are included. Overall, a good buy.
