| Identical Conductors 1.25% Silver-Plated Conductors Chassis Ground Wire Gold Plated, AQ Solder SUB-X uses two identical solid 1.25% Silver conductors for positive and negative. Solid conductors eliminate strand-interaction distortion. Foam PE insulation minimizes information smearing. A 100% coverage shield insures noise-free performance. Gold-plated high-conductivity brass plugs are attached with specially formulated AQ Silver Solder. Silver-Plated Copper (SPC) improves performance for video and for digital audio. However, when used for analog audio, SPC causes very irritating sounding treble. This distortion is analogous to a "sharpness" control in video. "Sharpness" causes "noise" around the edge of objects. From a distance this artificial edge can be a perceived improvement, but up close, the artificial edge is seen as undesirable distortion. The negative effect of SPC at treble frequencies is like being up close. However, at subwoofer frequencies there is no such thing as harsh treble ... the effect of SPC is like viewing from a distance, the big things (low frequencies) are made slightly more "visible." Do not use Sub-X as a full range audio cable. DIRECTIONS: Only if you hear noticeable hum in your system after connecting your subwoofer, then you will need to attach the little extra tails on Sub-X. Attach the small spade lugs at both ends. Some equipment has a ground (GND) connection on the back-panel. If not, attach the little spade lugs to any screw on the equipment chassis. |
