Best Headset for brokers, sales, etc.6/8/2011
I am a financial advisor at a major wall street firm and spend most of my day on the phone. For 5-6 years I have had a plantronics CS50 which was decent but the past year the call quality was deteriorating (echo, noise) and after many attempts, it could not be adjusted away. Also I was about to run through my second battery replacement. Fortunately I checked buy.com since I had my eye on the CS70N/AWH-75N, but these babies are usually $300. I was able to get this one (the top of the line) for less than a CS50! The best feature is that with my phone (Avaya 9630) I can remotely answer and end calls without the clunky headset lifter. There is just a tiny microphone to put where your phone's ringer is and when away from your desk, if your phone rings the headset will beep (EVEN if it is OFF!) and you can then press the main button on the headset to answer it. The only time I have to touch my phone is to press the numbers to dial. When you push the main button on the headset, not only does the headset turn "on" but you also get a dial tone. In the past, this required also pressing the "headset" button on the phone to get a dial tone. Same thing with hanging up, I used to have to turn off the headset AND hit the headset button on the phone. Now I just hit the headset button and the phone goes off the hook as well. The call quality is stellar both for me and my counterparties. I guess I seem a little excited but when you make your living talking to people, convenience, call quality, and seamless integration are key!
