Great Notebook TV card5/17/2010
I purchased this product January of 2010. I don.t use it as often as the the TV card I have on my Desktop, but often enough. I normally use it to copy programs I've recorded on my cable system provided DVR. I have to replay the stored video that's on the DVR, but that's not a major pain since I'm normally doing somethig else. Once I capture the video from the DVR I may edit it and then burn it to a DVD. I sometimes use this TV card when I'm away from my Desktop. Good product, great price, and Buy.Com got it to me quickly.
Product doesn't work7/3/2009
I'm having nothing but problems with this product. The software constantly freezes or crashes. To make matters worse, it also causes my whole laptop to freeze. When I try to scan for channels, my laptop freezes. I updated the drivers and software and the problem still persists. When it works, the reception is poor, even though I'm located in an area of strong signals. This product just doesn't work. I don't know what to do.

I'm having nothing but problems with this product. The software, AVer MediaCenter, frequently crashes or freezes. To make matters worse, it also causes my whole laptop to freeze. When I scan for channels, my laptop freezes. I tried everything from reinstalling the latest drivers and software with no success. When it works, the reception is poor, even though I'm located in the city where the signals are strong. This product just doesn't work. I don't know what to do.
I'm using this on my 3 year old Dell 1505 laptop with XP Media center addition and it works great. The laptop came with an analog tuner that had to be plugged into a USB port. This works much better and sets up easily. I can record HDTV broadcasts when programed and left in standby mode. I have only tried the AverMedia Center at this time, but it can be used with other Media Centers.
Bought this for a daughter in college who didn't have room in her dorm for a TV (or the funds to buy one). Now all she has to do is insert the card and attach her TV cable and she has television on her screen she can watch while doing school work! It works great and was very simple for her to set up.

At first I doubt about this little device but...11/13/2008
It works very well, Hi Def picture quality is excellent, set up with Windows Vista is so easy, all you need to do is install the driver, the rest windows Vista will pick up. The little stock antena is excellent. Reception is so good that you can almost watching TV everywhere with you laptop (I'm using Dell Studio laptop runing windows Vista home premium 32 bit with 3GB RAM) I'm fully recomment this little toy.
Great TV Tuner but DOES NOT fit in HP DV 9000 seri6/18/2008
This is my 2nd TV Tuner card and it works GREAT. Its fast, it displays clear picture and channel changing is fast enough. I want to warn some people here who are using HP Pavilion DV 9XXX series notebook and want to buy this card. This card DOES NOT lock in properly for DV 9XXX notebooks. You can still view/record tv channels but once you try to unplug the cable the card comes out with it. I tried to push it in different ways but no luck. I am returning this now. Hope this saves you the effort.
