The QuickPlay is extremely easy to install and fine-tune to your TV. However, I am a bit dissatisfied with the quality of the video--it is unable to reproduce 32-bit, and even 16-bit color faithfully. It seems to resolve the colors down to a smaller color palette that leaves skin tones and gradient backgrounds looking a bit plastic. Gradients such as the blue background of the Windows Media Center main screen come out with 6 or 7 steps of blue color, instead of a smooth transition. If you're looking for a way to get your Media Center PC working on your TV set, this is not the way to go. For Powerpoint presentations, however, there's nothing simpler to throw in your bag--no power adapter needed.

If you need/want to hook your PC to a non-HD television, and do not have compatible S-video ports on your PC and TV, this is the product you need. It is compact and works extremely well. It will not produce the same clarity for text and websites as a PC monitor, but that is not the devices fault, non-HD televisions are not capable of producing the same resolution as monitors. If you have an HD TV, you do not need this device, just hook your VGA/DVI cord straight into the TV, it will be clear enough for text documents and websites. Back to this product, its best uses are watching video and still images from your PC, and probably gaming. I use it to watch downloaded videos, or streamed movies from network websites or Netflix. I've been able to watch all 3 seasons of Lost off ABC's website, it has worked fantastic. The design quality itself is a little cheesy, but it still works well and the functions of the buttons work well and are very handy. It is not clear in the product description, so I will clarify here. You can hook to your TV three ways, component is the three RCA hook-up (YPbPr), you can use S-video, or you can use the green RCA as a composite video (TVs commonly have this input as yellow). I have only used the single composite video, and then used the red/white inputs for audio (sep. cord) and it has worked very well. You will either need additional cables or a different device if you only have a coax input in your TV.
