Great if you have Windows Media Center3/2/2010
Installed this on my dual core Dell e521 with Win7 Pro X64. Plugged in - driver automatically installed. Connected to the cable TV connection. Pulled up Media Center, scanned channels. Seems to work fine. It picked up both digital and analog signals. FM radio... that's a different story. When I tried installing the Avermedia gadget, it didn't work. No gadget listed, no errors, etc. I extracted out all the files from the install file. There is a batch file that does the installation. It points to a windows folder that doesn't seem to match. Changed the batch file to match my setup. Now the gadget works fine. My only complaint with the gadget is: It's slow and consumes too many cpu cycles. I have a dual core gaming rig (x64) with 4GB RAM, SSD, and a 9800GT. It should work with no issues. The other issue I have with FM is the signal is very weak. I can't see myself using on a laptop to listen to FM radio on the go, as it takes a relatively large antenna to pick up even the strongest signals.
Easy setup with Windows 73/1/2010
Worked like a charm and easy to setup.
easy to use12/26/2009
Bought this for a Windows 7 Sony CW laptop, and it worked great. Windows installed the driver once it was plugged into a USB port, and then Windows Media Center recognized it. FM radio in Windows Media Center also worked easily. It does not come with an antenna, but I already have some, so that is OK with me.
