A very original album!
Andrew Mckenna Lee shows off his versatility as a composer and guitarist in a great way with this album. His previous album Solar Electric was more of an alternative/progressive approach to composition. Done in a masterful way I might add. In this album he does 6 Bach Preludes, played very cleanly with a guitar that must have incredible tonal characteristics in person. The ability to play properly and soulfully is most important. But a tonally great guitar makes it that much better. My personal favorites on here are his own compositions Arabescata, and Dizzying Array. Arabescata is played in a very unique way. It's hard to pinpoint what style of music he's even playing, because he tends to use elements of different styles of classical music in the song. It truly testifies to his originality as a composer. And to finish off the album Dizzying Array is a bright and uplifting outro for the album. It's dynamic yet peaceful in nature. I couldn't think of a better way to end the album than with this song.
