Muze PNote The album that almost made them major league stars, mainly because of the hit single "Burlesque," which is still a radio-friendly track to this day. Elsewhere, their original ideas continued to abound--"Bolero Babe," with its swirling violin, and the nostalgic "Coronation" showed that Chapman and Whitney had so much in store. Humour was much more prevalent in Family lyrics than any other band of this era, sometimes buried under the rock. This time, it is "Broken Nose" and the punchline, "the day that I stopped loving you was the day you broke my nose." Finally, the wonderful "My Friend The Sun" is there to remind us of just what a great band they were, and they never felt the need to re-form.

Producer: Family; George Chkiantz

Professional Reviews

Q (p.125)
- "Family were one of the most inventive British bands of the late '60s offering an often dizzying cocktail of post-Beatles psychedelia, prog-rock and acoustic whimsy."
