| In Boston: Fenway Park was our seventeenth stop. By then we''d just assumed that if you are given a media credential you are allowed on the field. But Kevin wasn''t buying that. In Baltimore: Greg headed up to the press box to begin work on ''Camden Yards: The Ballpark that Changed Baseball Forever," while I dashed down to the Yankees clubhouse for an experience as thrilling as any I would ever have in my life. In Toronto: Greg and I brainstormed on the Jim Rome angle. We decided to make a demo of us getting players to hype The Jungle and The Last Word. We figured our on-field access would be something Rome might want to exploit and we wanted to make it absolutely clear what we were capable of. In Anaheim: The Yankees were doing calisthenics, and though I doubt Derek realized it, I was a few feet away from him for nearly forty-five minutes. Finally an opportunity presented itself. |
