From the Publisher:
Young, high-spirited Lady Madeline Matthews is expected to wed an aging, lecherous lord. But she would rather shame herself in the eyes of society than sacrifice her freedom, and resolves to render herself unmarriageable by indulging in a torrid affair with Britain's most acclaimed actor and notorious womanizer, Logan Scott. He is a legend in the footlights and in the bedchamber. But when the curtain falls, Logan is an intensely private, guarded man still tormented by past betrayals that cut deep into his pride and his heart. Now a forward little minx who seems completely out of place in the bright, sophisticated world of the London stage is disrupting his orderly existence with her constant presence, her unspoiled beauty and vibrant charm. And what begins with an onstage kiss threatens to blossom into something more rapturous and real. But first Logan and Madeline both must be brave enough to drop the masks they hide behind. . . and reveal their true selves in the golden glorious light of love.To avoid an arranged marriage, Madeline Matthews flees to London. Her plan is to have an affair with the famous actor, Logan Scott, a renowned lover, thus ruining her reputation sufficiently to make her an unsuitable bride. Landing a job in Logan's theatrical company, Maddie discovers that the rakish stage idol never consorts with the women in his company. With lively determination, Maddie sets out to melt his resolve.Fleeing to London to avoid an arranged marriage, Madeline hopes that an affair with actor Logan Scott will render her unsuitable, but she has difficulty getting the renowned womanizer to cooperate
Author Bio
Lisa Kleypas
Lisa Kleypas would not look out of place on the cover of one her own books; the popular romance writer is also a former beauty queen. Kleypas was born in Temple, Texas, to Lloyd Kleypas, a successful real-estate developer, and his wife, Linda. The family later moved to Massachusetts. One of two children, Kleypas began reading romance novels as a teen and became determined to write her own. As a high-school senior she entered the America's Junior Miss Pageant, finishing fourth at the national level. With the $10,000 college scholarship she won, Kleypas attended Wellesley, where she studied political science. In 1985 she won the chance to represent Massachusetts in the Miss America Pageant but failed to make the top 10. (She has told interviewers that her participation earned her disdain from her feminist classmates at Wellesley.) Undaunted, she focused on her other ambition, and within a few months of graduating with her bachelor's degree in 1987, she had published her first novel, the Regency romance WHERE PASSIONS LEAD. She has since written numerous other romances, both historical and contemporary, and is a frequent honoree at the Romance Writers of America's RITA Awards.
