| In this gripping psychological thriller in the vein of "Shutter Island" and the film "Memento," an amnesiac attempts to reconstruct her past by keeping a journal and discovers the dangerous inconsistencies in the stories of her husband and her secret doctor. |
Annotation:
As a rsult of an accident years before, Christine suffers from a form of amnesia that causes her to lose her memory each night as she sleeps. Every morning a man named Ben explains to Christine who she is and that he is her husband. For Christine, each day is lived as though it is her first and last. Then one day she receives a phone call from a Dr. Nash, who claims to be working with Christine--without Ben's knowledge--to recover her memory. At Nash's suggestion, Christine finds a journal in which she has been recording her daily activities for the past few weeks. With each passing day, Christine learns a bit more about herself, and gradually she begins to ask questions about her past--and to realize how completely under Ben's control she is.
