I have attempted to purchase a Belkin F6B750-AVR UPS. I returned the first, hoping the problem was a fluke, but the second arrived today with the same issue. Upon opening the shipping box, I discovered extra washers floating around loose in the packaging. When I turn the unit sideways to remove it from the shipping box, there is the sound of additional parts (presumably more washers or screws or something) floating freely within the case. Perhaps I'm overly cautious, but given that the UPS has extra metal pieces rattling around inside it, I don't feel comfortable plugging it into an electrical outlet. Needless to say, I am returning this second unit and searching for an alternate manufacturer.

Overall, this is worth having for the broadband protection, especially since a lightning storm (I live in NE FL) took out my cable modem. However, I am a bit disappointed in that it won't handle the CRT load. Whenever I plug my Dell Trinitron 17" monitor into the UPS, the UPS shuts off immediately, and the Fault/Overload red light comes on. Of course, the computer, cable modem, and Vonage router consequently shut off, which is exceptionally annoying. However, once I plugged the monitor into the "surge protection only" side of the UPS and ran a deep battery test with just the computer, the cable modem, and the Vonage router plugged into the battery backup side of the UPS, the UPS worked perfectly. All in all, that's mainly what I bought it for, the broadband protection, and keeping the cable modem and Vonage service operating, which it does, so I'm pleased with it, ...just wish it would keep the monitor on as well, but there you have it.
