Having been used to a plug and go type of docking station, I needed something that was just as easy. While this unit does not provide power like my old docking station did, it doesn't matter. All of my external cables are now tucked neatly behind the docking station and there is only one cable to remove at the end of the day.
One note of caution to those who are installing this unit. DO NOT put the hardware on the system before you run the installation disk. Run it first, and it will tell you when to plug things in. Also, I had problems setting up my video connection, but later learned that it was easier to do so through the Windows XP Display Settings.
I have also noticed that my Enet connection seems faster, and my keyboard and mouse seem more responsive. I'm definitely impressed by the simplicity.
