very happy with this laptop case1/17/2008
I know it's "just" a laptop case, but I use it everyday so I wanted something that would work well. Within 3 weeks, I purchased and used 4 different laptop cases and this one was easily the winner. I was unable to find a case like my old Samsonite case where you can work from the case with the power adapter in a pocket....it used to take about 20 seconds to open the case, open the laptop and plug it in...same for when you were ready to leave...very convenient if you move around alot. The next best thing is top loading case like this one...Belkin included a removable pouch that you can put your power adapter in and it fits neatly into the case. The interior of the case is divided in two...my 15.4 inch Thinkpad fits perfectly in the padded section and is easy to take out and put away. I feel the padding is more than adequate protection. The other half of the case stores the removable pouch and there are a few pockets and zippered storage and enough room for a few legal sized folders, pads or envelopes. On the outside of the case there is large zippered pocket with more pockets inside and a little hole that you could slip a headphone wire into the zippered pocket holding an ipod or something. There's another vertical zippered pocket on the front of the case for more stuff but I haven't found a good use for it yet. The carrying handle is comfortable, looks good and yet is not in the way when not is use....nicely designed. The shoulder strap does NOT detach, which is my biggest complaint because I rarely use it, however, it does fold up nicely and fits pretty flat into yet another pocket on the rear of the case. Maybe one day I'll cut it off. It would be nice if the shoulder strap was detachable. The shape of the case is slighlty larger and tapered at the bottom and thinner at the handle....it's appears to me very well designed and thought out....I'd say a great buy for $40. As usual, Buy.com shipped it promptly and made buying easy.
