Solid High-End Banana Plugs
PROS: > High End Plugs / Solid Construction > Great Connection: plugs attach from the side with a hex-wrench (included) screw -- color coded cap screws on over the connection - tight professional looking connection. > Red / Black bands - some plugs don't offer this simple color coded feature (i.e. Acoustic Research Pro II). > Great for speaker connections where length is not an issue. Great for receiver connection as long as you have the space. > At a sale price of $10-11, these plugs are a great value. At a full retail price of $20+, other high-end plugs are shorter and easier to install. ADVICE: > Plugs are VERY LONG when you compare them to the Monster QuickLock or other common plugs found at Best Buy etc. > Measure your home entertainment center to see if it is deep enough for the depth of your receiver (most are 15-17") plus about 2" for the exposed portion of the plug and enough space for the speaker wire to bend without too much tension. > Install takes longer than some screw-on, crimp, and quicklock type plugs as the Belkin plugs must be disassembled to attach them to the speaker wire, then reassembled. This only takes about 1-2minutes per plug and the connection is very solid. > Must remember to thread base cap (silver piece w/ black or red)on the wire before you attach the main plug piece or you will have to unscrew it and start over. Not a big deal, but its easy to forget if you are installing many of them. > Be careful not to throw away the hex-wrench -- its attached inside the folded instructions and is pretty small if you don't look for it. > These plugs secure tightly, but do not click / lock in place like most banana plugs. Not an issue, but if you are looking for plugs that "lock", this is not your plug.
