I recently purchased a TrendNet "N" router, which I reviewed here on Buy.com, and this Belkin is definately the one I WOULD recommend. The setup was the simplist it could be, the range was much better than the LinkSys "G", and the speed was excellent... in the 360Kbps range with 3 megabit DSL service. I had absolutely no problems with setup and am totally satisfied with the performance... and the price. As always, the Buy.com transaction was smooth and shipping was speedy.

Inexpensive but weak

This router is a cheap way to run fully-loaded DD-WRT - it can do a lot with Broadcom BCM4718 chip, 64MB RAM, 8MB flash, and a USB port. However, its wireless coverage is very weak (at least under DD-WRT) - I did not see anywhere close to advertised N300 speeds, and its signal range was barely adequate to cover my entire house, despite (or likely because) of it's "3D coverage", since I have no control over its internal antennae orientation. Would probably work better in a small uncongested area.

I bought router hoping to have better performance than a wireless Belkin router purchased over 10 years ago model F507230-4,. The N300 did not have the same range and had to be rebooted often. I have not returned because of price involved in return shipping it was however not a costly product. I was hoping for something better but sometimes you get what you pay for.

it's not the latest generation
users say it has terrible range, flaky connection, firewall issues.

I purchased a belkin router to find out it was discontinued & no free phone support. it would not install on my computer. I would NEVER have purchased if I knew this in the first place. I was told by this foreigner on customer support to go to the website for free help. how do I get to the website when it won't install? I haven't tried adjusting this router with a new system or anything like that. It just works the way it should out of the box for me. I'm using it as an extra wireless access point. It's nice that it offers that within the software. It gives me a solid N speed wireless connection. At the discounted price, it's definitely a five-star item.

Outdated Product - No Support from Belkin

Bought this item through Rakuten and tried to set it up. Plugged it in and I immediately got a smell throughout the house of burning electronics. Tried to set it up and the software informed me that I had to call Belkin software support. Upon being transferred twice I was told that it is an outdated product and Belkin support does not offer any support service for that device. They informed me that I had to either pay for support to get it set up or return the item. Well guess what, I'm returning the item.

Super easy to set up. If you use the pre-set configuration it is is literally ready to go out of the box. I customized it to my own personal settings and was done in 5 minutes from unpack to connect and have every device in my house working perfectly. My house has some tricky obstacles for a clear signal, but nonetheless, this is the best router I have used.

This router is excellent; I use it with the manufacturer supplied firmware (but it is TomatoUSB compatible.) It only took about 30 minutes from opening the box to having a functional setup serving DHCP addresses to 2 wired devices and offering secure wireless access (which I have since turned off, as I don't really need it now.) Haven't tried out the USB printer/storage sharing yet. The switch has been very stable, and has been set to auto-reset itself weekly. I am thinking of buying another

So far I have been extremely satisfied with my purchase. The router was shipped extremely fast and was brand new. I have a ATT Uverse Gateway so I have cascaded this router in order to add ethernet ports and upgrade my wireless to N. The set up was EXTREMELY intuitive. Although there are faster routers out there, for the price I really don't think you can find a better value. Going from Wireless G to N I could immediately see improvement. Buy with confidence.

My android tablet is reporting 65Mbps in the same room, not exactly as advertised, but it is a significant improvement and it is faster than my internet connection of 25. The Belkin Share N300 model F7D7301 is a simple N router with a USB port for a LAN printer. It has clean lines and is significantly larger than the Belkin Surf N300. For my application I needed to configure it as an Access Point. I had to get help from Belkin to complete the configuration. It is up and running except for the internal time. I am working with Belkin to resolve this issue.

This N300 Belkin wireless router is much more efficient and faster than my previous wireless G router. The only problem is when I tried to connect another laptop to the network, it was a bit tricky but I believed it was due to the firewall settings. However it is working now and it was very very easy to install.

This router is a great value for the money. I initially purchased it to use as possibly use as an Access Point but first I wanted to compare it too my D-Link dir-655.
I placed the two routers in the same location in our 2nd floor office and found that the signal strength on multiple devices wasn't as strong on the N300 as the dir-655 on our 1st floor, but it was strong enough and maintained similar internet connection speeds.
The main drawback for this router is the lack of a gigabit ethernet port, but at it's price point you wouldn't really expect it.
In the day I messed around with the router, it seemed to be adequate with no major or noticeable flaws. My impatience and general lack of knowledge caused me to brick it while doing a firmware update within 24 hours of getting it.

This is a budget router worth its $20 price tag. I have used it in both wired and wireless connections and there were no problems in performance or reliability. However, using the USB port that is available in this model is not straightforward, as you have to use special utility that needs to be installed on each client device. Other devices I've seen do not have this requirement, and the USB sharing can be configured from the router itself. Otherwise it is a plug and forget model, that requires no maintenance.

Intermittent connection issues, software required

I bought this router because the one I had was ~10 years old and only had WEP. The old router wouldn't work with Apple products.
This Belkin router had an easy, fast setup. I intended to use the option to attach a hard drive to the router for network storage but it requires software be loaded on each computer.
My biggest complaint is I have very frequent internet drop outs and have to reset the router often. This happens once every week or two. I never had this issue with my old router.

I bought this router as a back up for my Llinksys. When my Linksys started to show signs of aging I hooked up this Belkin Share N300. I used it for 10 days and it died. No power to it at all. Of course I didn't use it until after the 45 day return window so I have to toss it. I will replace my Linksys, which I had in place for over 10 years, probably with another Linksys instead of Belkin. I thought I liked the Belkin name, not so much any more.
