Customer Reviews of BenQ G2400W 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor - 1000:1, 5ms, 1920x1200 - DVI, HDMI
Couldn't ask for more.3/11/2008
This monitor is great. After doing extensive research before dropping $400 on a monitor I chose the benq over the dell 24". No dead or stuck pixels. Gamma shift not bad for this class of monitor, still better than my 19"wide viewsonic. No complaints. Stand is minimal but fine for my use. (video editing and motion graphics work in CS3.) Highly recomended.
Did a little research, almost bought a dell (the cheaper one not the ultrasharp, the new lower cost one) then found the Benq for a little less, and the Benq has an HDMI port which the Dell does not have. Ordered Thursday, arrived following Wednesday. Absloutely beautiful monitor, not a single dead or stuck pixel and the color and brightness are stunning. Good lookiung bezel as well. Moved up from a 20" 4:3 CRT. I was concerned about the low brightness rating, but it is extremely bright even during the day with the sunlight coming in the windows. At night almost have to turn the brightness down. I use dell flat panels at work, this one is just as good or better to my eye. Highly recommend the Benq. Especially for the cost, it will be hard to beat this monitor for what you get for the price.
Good Monitor at a good price.11/30/2007
I've had this monitor for about a month now. It arrived with no dead/stuck pixels and in great working order. I have watched movies on it and played a couple FPS's on it. I haven't noticed any ghosting or smearing. I use the DMI input and setup was a piece of cake. I like the monitor much better than the 21" Viewsonic CRT it replaced. I would say my computer expertise is 8/10, but as far as using monitors for graphic design where shades and hues are important, I would give myself a 2/10. I have noticed that there is a very slight shade difference on the corners. If I move 2.5' or more away from the screen, it is not noticeable. I think this an effect of the angle of viewing since it's such a large screen. The viewing angle seems pretty good. Unless I am at an extreme angle (almost past the plane of the monitor's face), I can view it from just about any angle in the room. The shades do seem to shift as you move away viewing it straight on. I was worried about the low brightness compared to others monitors but it is not an issue for me. I work in a sunlit room and only have it turned up to 70%. I think it is plenty bright for typical applications. If you're tying to set up a kiosk for a trade show, you may want something with a little more brightness. I have read reviews of other monitors that produce a lot of heat, but this one seems to run fairly cool. All in all, I am very satisfied with price and performances.
