Artist Bio
Elton JohnElton John's life is one of the most chronicled on the planet. Everything he does is newsworthy; everywhere he goes people seek him out. Here in the Life section we have built up a library of features about many aspects of Elton's life, and in these features we try to give you information and pictures that you will not find elsewhere. Among these features for example there's an eyewitness account of life in Elton's Rocket Record Company in the 1970's, an interview with Songs From The West Coast photographer Sam Taylor-Wood, two incredible accounts of Elton's 1975 Dodger Stadium concerts, a tribute to the friendship and collaboration between Elton and John Lennon and most recently, an interview with Sir Tim Rice.
Reviews
ReviewSource The New York Times
Review Even theatergoers who are not fans of Sir Elton's treacly pop scores for "The Lion King" and "Aida" should be delighted by his work here, which is as notable for its modesty as for its potency. Sir Elton works deftly in several vernaculars, from the stirring solemnity of protest ballads to the flighty cadences of the music hall. He blasts through with electric rock only and exactly when he should, for a stunning first-act finale in which Billy gives anger full rein.
