Love my phone7/26/2012
I got my blackberry torch and it was all I expecte it to be. It is silk, smooth, responds to the touch remarkably. Th e experienece of having a BB torch is nothing compared to all the phones I have ever had. It is now practically my personal assistant. It give me every information on the go. the picture quality is great. The internet experience is awesome. it islike you have your lap top with you. I am a Pharmacist and I was able to download an app on drugs and it was very cute. Now I can talk to my patient with more confidence anytime from my PDA( BB torch) about their medications without the books around but a quick reference though my BBtorch. the feeling is great.
I am a long time Blackberry user. When I lost my BB a while back I switched to the iPhone. I used the iphone for about a year then came back to BB when the Torch came out. I can't say enough good things about this phone. I can type literally type 10 times faster using the trusty bb keyboard. The BB implementation of the touch screen takes a few days to get used to but the combination of touch screen with a good keyboard makes for a very productive combination. I have good call quality and it seems to be able to hold a connection where my old BB and the iPhone would always lose their connections. The browser actually works and works as well as the iPhone. The old BB browser was terrible. The text messaging is much better as it groups and organizes text messages with the same metaphor as BB IM. If you are a teenager the iPhone may still be for you. If you are a grown up and need to use your phone for email, messaging, and calls first, then as a secondary goal to manage media then the BB is the only serious phone to use. The droids and the iPhone have been hacked and the number of viruses for these phones is growing. The BB has not been hacked and there are no viruses. Overall the phone is fast, well built, has great tools, good media management and is secure.
One of the best Blackberry i ever used6/6/2012
This BB combines both a touchscreen and a keyboard. It is rather of a cool design with the sliding factor. I do gotto say these phones are durable because i drop water on mine and got severe water damage on it. Even thru that is still up and working. Pretty solid phone.
The Blackberry Torch is the best all-around business smartphone. It emails better than the iPhone 4 because of the traditional Blackberry qwerty keyboard and it files and sorts emails like Outlook. I can see all my email accounts on one screen and I can see my sent emails in the same screen. This was something the iPhone 4 required going to two separate screens to see. The HTC ARIA was even worse, had to go to each account and then switch from the inbox to sent folder. This was a pain since I have 4 email accounts. Battery life on the Torch should get you through a full day, unless you are watching movies. For an average day, I talk for an hour or two, email 20 - 30 times, listen to an hour of music and search the web for about 30 mins. The HTC ARIA only lasted until 6pm.
Blackberries may no longer be the top 'smart phones' because they don't do everything well but for what I consider their 'core' features - email and phone, in that order - they are still up there at the top. And the Torch is the current top Blackberry at the time I'm writing this. As a 'business phone', it combines the best features of 'traditional' blackberries with the
I've had all sorts of smartphones and was thinking about getting this touch version or an iphone. After the touch screen of my ipod crashed and became unusable, and further learned that this is a very common issue and that's why they keep releasing new versions, I decided to give BB torch a try. I was impressed with the short time it takes to boot on OS6, there's not much to learn on how to get a hold of the apps if you've owned a BB previously. I've seen some comments from people complaining that their phone is slow to respond. I guess that if you are in the middle of an installation and begin multitasking this could happen. But I have not been seeing any performance issues whatsoever and it is working smoothly and keeping me pleased with my purchase. For those of you planning to buy it unlocked, it worked with no issues with my local provider (and I was expecting lots of issues due to the poor quality of the service I get from my phone company). Don't think twice and get your hands on this BB.
Best from Blackberry6/23/2011
Have had this phone for the past 8 months and I must say I am really impressed with the features and the performance. Bought this phone with a 2 year contract with AT&T which came at a very low price. The overall rating is 4 since it does not support flash player and very less number of apps compared to iphone and android phones.
