sound is dropping intermittently11/17/2011
i am using it for a karaoke head phone. The music and the singer voice do not sync and yes it skipping.
Works great, as promised4/16/2010
I wanted to wirelessly stream music from my cell phone to my car's stereo as I am already using the car's bluetooth hands-free receiver but the latter doesn't support A2DP. I used this transceiver (I've only tested its RX capability) in conjunction with an angled male-to-male 1/4" stereo phono adapter and a low-profile USB charger (with the appropriate USB-to-Sony Walkman adapter) to connect to the car's AUX port. Putting this "kit" together was a pain and a little costly but the end result is bliss! I can play my music (iTunes, MP3s and such) over my car stereo and my cell phone will pause the music when a call comes in, etc. The big challenge (and this is why I docked it one grade under "ease of use" was finding the USB "power tip" for Sony MD/Walkman, sold by Kensington, as this bluetooth transceiver is mainly targeted for home use, with the home charger (even though they claim "on-the-go" compatibility as well; tsk-tsk!). The range is decent (don't bother going to the limit without a direct, unobstructed line of sight) but pairing is simple and the music comes through crystal clear, bass and all. At first I had "phase" issues with the music speeding up and slowing down but ends up it was my phone's fault. Upgrading its OS seems to have cleared that up.
Get decent Bluetooth on your PC/ IPOD8/27/2008
Works flawlessly with Bluesoleil Bluetooth drivers on my PC. Connected the unit to the TV and now can use it with Ipod transmitter from Sony) and PC. Great Item.
Piece of junk!4/4/2008
This thing will only work when it sits 2 feet away from the audio source. I had my computer streaming audio to it from literally 5 feet away and it was skipping all over the place.
Got two and both DOA2/11/2008
DOA. Couldn't pair it because it would not go into pairing mode. Also sony has no support info. I says in the manual go to sony.com/support. I spent an hour on the site trying to find support for this porduct, nothing. Don't wast your time or money on this junk. I had the motorolla one it at least pairs up correctly, no if they could only fix the audio quality to sound better then a poor am station. (and stop the skipping...)
Sound quality skips horribly from less than 10 ft1/6/2008
This thing sucks. The audio skips around more than a three-legged dog. For it to work flawlessly the audio source must sit directly next to this receiver. I tried the Moto DC800 and it works better...but not much better. I think I will hold out and get a wifi media appliance.
