The Bose Companion 2 Series II multimedia speaker system represents an upgrade in sound and style over original-equipment computer speakers. Enjoy sharp, expansive sound for music, movies and games. Dual inputs allow the speakers to be used with your desktop or laptop computer, or tablet, as well as a second audio source, such as a portable MP3 player.
The Companion 2 system delivers both the subtleties in your music and the rousing resonance of movie and game sound effects. And Bose TrueSpace signal processing creates spacious, dramatic soundstage that seems to extend beyond the speakers. You'll appreciate the clear, robust response for challenging low musical notes and sound effects.
The sleek, compact speakers save useful desk space and are magnetically shielded to prevent interference with your monitor. The volume control and headphone jack reside on the front of one speaker for easy control.

Nice speakers. I recommend them.
I am using these speakers as "satellite" speakers for an HDTV. If you weren't looking, you would think the sound was coming from full size floor speakers. And, they make very good substitutes for the puny speakers that are supplied with HDTV's - especially since they are self-powered and can be driven by the low level line output of the TV. One thing, Bose should document that they automatically go into "sleep mode" when not in use - thus obviating the need for an on/off switch. From the comments I've seen, there is widespread disappointment at the lack of an on/off switch when, in fact, one is not necessary. The fact that they automatically turn on in the presence of a sound signal is another reason why they make good TV satellite speakers for those not having the space or inclination to go for a full scale "home theatre" sound system.
Outstanding for the price11/22/2012
Typical, excellent Bose quality. Sound is good and is what I expected.
Great Quality for Price Range11/17/2012
You usually can't go wrong with Bose, and these speakers are no exception. They sport a nice, tight design, and were slimmer than I expected. Sound was clear and crisp, and had a nice amount of bass, for which Bose is known. There weren't any complicated directions. Just connect the speakers, plug them in, and you're set to go. There's an on/off/volume knob on the right speaker, as well as a headphone jack. The speakers connect with an RCA plug, so they should work with most devices.
Easy to install and the sound is great. Very satisfied .
Another win-win product from Bose !6/10/2012
Blending of two separate audio sources, sound quality, and value for cost. I found the sound quality even better... you can hear all the little twings and twangs in music, grenades landing and tinking around in video games and voices are crisp and clear.
these are far beyond your every day computer speakers. I am getting clean clean sounds and an excellent balance.
Entry Level Bose6/1/2011
Not the best Bose offering, but it is one that is a two digit price. These are good speakers, but they are the entry level offering, so don't expect the work from them. That said, they are very good for their size and maybe just a tad expensive. Limited functionality too, just for computer use as I can tell.
Well Worth the Price8/28/2010
I've wanted a set of Bose speakers for quite awhile and I'm satisfied with this purchase. I am using these speakers in a small office and the sound is very good. I am not an expert on sound reproduction, but I think these speakers produce a good balance of pitches. I have no idea how they would do in a larger room.
