High-Speed Laser Printer for Home Offices or Small Offices
Costs way too much to operate12/5/2011
Brother laser printers work fine, just as well as other brands. The problem is that the drum is separate from the toner cartridge and will only last through 2 toner cartridges...3 at very most. replacing the drum can cost 3 times the cost of the printer. HP laser printers have the drum as part of the toner cartridge, so each new toner cartridge replacement is also replacing the drum. This makes total cost of ownership far far less.
Excellent Duplexing Printer6/2/2010
I bought this printer for my office, along with its sister printer, the HL-5370dw. We've been really happy with both. If you're not duplexing, it prints amazingly fast, and if you are duplexing, it's still impressive. It's easy enough to switch between duplex and non-duplex modes in Windows. There's only one drawback, and it's minor: If you print something that's only one page long, but you have the printer defaulting to Duplex mode, it will still feed the paper through twice, even though there's nothing to print on the back. You can simply go to the Printer properties to turn off duplexing for a single-sided job, but it would be nice if the printer could figure out that it didn't need to waste time refeeding the pages. Otherwise, it's a great printer at a great price.
Fantastic Wireless Duplexing Laser Printer for the1/11/2010
We bought this printer for our home office. It is being used for around 1000 pages/month. It was incredibly easy to setup the wireless networking. It is a solid unit that is very reliable and quick. The only issue I've had is when I am duplex printing, it often stops with an error. I open and close the rear door and it starts back up again. I'm not sure if this is specific to my unit or not. Overall you cannot beat this price for this quality.
