Customer Reviews of Brother QL-700 High-speed, Professional Label Printer
Love this item4/13/2015
Creating labels used to be such a chore but with this they are so easy. You can either use the onboard software or the P-Touch desktop software. Sizes are so easy to switch with no complicated setup. Layouts can be stored for later use also.
Meets its intended purpose. Had to play with Windows 7 to get driver to work with utilities.
Good hardware, poor software8/15/2013
Like other products already bought from Brother, excellent hardware with a poor quality software.
Great Low Cost Label Printer6/22/2013
This is a great little printer. We have several in use in our processing business. They're fast, reliable and inexpensive (except for the label stock, unless you buy non-branded compatible label stock like we do.) I would recommend this printer for both personal and business use.
I bought this printer specifically to print Ebay shipping labels. I still use XP, and this printer isn't supported by Ebay, but I found a workaround (set up for QL-550). It wasn't a flawless installation, but after working out the bugs it works like a champ. Perhaps installation is easier on a newer computer. I toyed around with the p-touch program, and the program is ok. I think it could be better. If I decide to make labels this will do.
I already own a Dymo Labelwriter, but the price of this one from Rakuten was too good to pass up. I use my Dymo exclusively for postage and this one for address and shipping labels. It is supper quick and literally throws the label at you with its "auto-cut' feature. I don't like the fact that is shuts down after awhile and you have to keep powering it on to use it. That is minor and I know it is to save power and the printer. All in all I would highly recommend this unit to anyone. I really like the interchangeable label spools too. You get a large one for shipping labels and a small one for address labels, which is easy to switch back and forth, very innovative by Brother. Again, the price cannot be beat.
We love it!4/23/2013
We use these lables for everything, and the set up is very easy, even a dumb ass like me is able to set it up. Thanks for a great product. We like our older models so well we ordered two more this time.
Attn.: Mr. Doesn't work with Mac OS X 10.8 Mount4/19/2013
The real problem you have here is a lack of reading and comprehension, not a failure of the item or bad product performance. - Brother, unlike many others on the PC side, manufactures and supports many of their products to specifically include Macintosh but they are very clear about which Mac OS they guarantee them to work with and offer support to. - In the Tech Specs above, that every potential buyer should be checking before purchase, the description offered clearly states "Mac OS X 10.4.11 - 10.7". - OS 10.8 by itself has caused many conflicts and problems across the board with many previously supported hardware and software products, not just this item. Someday hopefully Apple, a third party, or even Brother will create a patch or firmware upgrade to fix the problem but if you go to Apples site and read up on 10.8 you will understand why so many have chosen to wait and not upgrade to it. - So, to put a finer point on it, if you had simply taken a moment to read the readily provided information you would have saved yourself the cost of this printer and avoided the headache and stress you described going through only to end up blaming the manufacturer and defaming the QL-700 which works perfectly with my Mac OS 10.7.
The labeler is very handy and fast...4/11/2013
That was the labeler I was looking for; it is very fast. Can connect to any of the existing database. I have a MS access database where I have most of my equipment. Now I can print the label for each of the without creating new database. Great product.
Item as described easy to use great price
Item works very well.
Doesn't work with Mac OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion9/30/2012
What a waste of a weekend, trying to make this work with Mountain Lion. Yes, I installed it properly; yes, I updated the software and drivers from the Brother web site; yes, I uninstalled and reinstalled complete system and drivers alone, each a half-dozen times...still says drivers aren't compatible. And I've NEVER seen a printer treated by OS X and Clean My Mac as an external drive...turn off and OS X says it was improperly ejected...turn on and Clean My Mac wants to clean garbage files. This printer is a LOSER...capital L-O-S-E-R!!!
I have always used Brother Label Printers6/11/2012
I have used many models of Brother Label Printers and have never been disappointed. This one is just what I needed and at a great price.
Very satisfied with the product and the service.
Pretty good printer5/26/2012
I've only tried this using a PC and I'm not a big fan of PC based software, but I'm sure when I use the Mac I'll be able to navigate the software much better... the quality of the labels and really nice.... This is probably not an accurate Feedback so I'm pretty sure I'll add another point value to the review in each category..
You can not get a better label printer and at the sale price it's outstanding. Easy to use, easy to print. Makes your mail so much neater.
