Good product - below average support
Purchased this for a SOHO installation (XP Pro SP3). The product performs well. Was fairly easy to setup - software install went well and recognized the unit. The documentation is not very complete and the KB on the website is not very helpful. If you are using firewall software, you'll need to do some work. I called support a few times and found them to be less than friendly and in some cases, borderline argumentative. The website says one thing - tech said another. I resolved my issues - but if you rely heavily on support - you might look elsewhere. The backup software worked well. Allows for creation of a disaster recovery disk and image. Again, Buffalo techs do NOT support this software in any way. I did manage to get Novastor to speak with me, although they initially said they don't provide any phone support without a contract. Overall, a good product - but probably not for those that require extensive support or documentation.
