Max's sister, Ruby, saved up a walletful of money for Grandma's birthday present. (from the first line)
It's Grandma's birthday, and Ruby knows exactly what Grandma would love--a beautiful ballerina box. Max also knows what she'd love--a scary pair of ooey-gooey vampire teeth. Wells's adorable story is a fun and lively introduction to early math as the bunnies save up for their gifts. Full color.
From the Publisher:
Max and Ruby spend so much on emergencies while shopping for Grandma's birthday presents, that they just barely have enough money left for gifts. Reprint.
Rabbit siblings Ruby and Max pool their money together (Ruby's $15 and Max's 25 cents) and head into town to buy the perfect present for their grandmother's birthday. But the trip into town doesn't go quite as planned, and they end up spending a lot of the money for such emergencies as washing and drying Max's clothes after he dirties himself with a pair of fake vampire teeth that ooze cherry syrup. Will Ruby and Max have any money left to buy a present for their grandmother and pay their bus fare back home? Readers can practice their addition and subtraction skills as Ruby and Max make their purchases. Illustrated with watercolor and black line drawings.
