Product Details:
| The picture-perfect new town of Candor, Florida, is attracting more and more new families, drawn by its postcard-like small-town feel, with white picket fences, spanking-new but old-fashioned-looking homes, and neighborliness. But the parents are drawn by something else as well. They know that in Candor their obstreperous teenagers will somehow become rewired - they''ll learn to respect their elders, to do their chores, and enjoy their homework. They''ll give up the tattoos, metal music, and partying that have been driving their parents crazy. They''ll become every parent''s dream. |

Annotation:
Candor is a town where all the teenagers strive to do their best, think carrots are a good snack, and consider kissing going too far. Oscar Banks knows the secret behind this bizarre behavior: brainwashing. His father invented the town and has created specialized Messages that parents with "troubled" teens can use to straighten them out. Oscar has made a career of helping people escape the mind control, but when he meets Nia, all that goes out the window. She seems more resistant than most, and if he helps, serious trouble might come his way. Reminiscent of Scott Westerfeld's Uglies trilogy, CANDOR was inspired by the author's time spent living in the Disney-run planned community of Celebration, Florida.
